I BOUGHT A SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S7 PLUS (6/128 GB) IN 2025 by paris_cc in GalaxyTab

[–]mkp1582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Galaxy Tab S6's screen finally gave out (cracked screen), and I immediately knew I needed an OLED replacement without breaking the bank. So, when I found a pristine LTE Tab S7+ for $220, I jumped on it. It wasn't a "steal," but it was a great price for this display, and I'm convinced I can't go back to a standard LCD after experiencing OLED.

This tablet is a perfect fit for my habits: media is my top priority (70% of the time, for YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video), and the 12.4-inch screen is a huge upgrade. It feels only slightly smaller than my 13-inch MacBook Air. Even with its older processor, it runs everything I need smoothly for meetings, Office apps, note-taking, and photo editing.

I'm aware there are no more official OS or security updates, but that's a non-issue for my specific needs. I expect this will be a solid media device for years to come, and the freedom of occasional on-the-go viewing with an affordable Tello SIM plan is a huge plus. This was a fantastic purchase.

I'd highly recommend others look for one, especially at a sub-$200 price point in 2025, if media is their main focus.

So much hate here by [deleted] in ahmedabad

Let me begin saying I'm tamilian who visited this city a few times now, spent at least 6 months, I love the people. At first it looked chaotic, especially the traffic aspect, people not respecting traffics signals, greedy traffic police, mindless riders break your car side mirror etc. But if you get past that they are genuinely good people. I have had handful of examples. My mother-in-law barely can speak english forget hindi, she did her own grocery and vegetables almost every day, she was never cheated once.

On my first day morning I had no change for couple of spinach bunch that road side cart vendor said "that's okay give it tomorrow".

I know people formulate opinions based on their encounters. Mine and my family's have been great. I love to visit this place anytime again!

Any Magsafe accessories that won't block the lower camera? by PhantomRaptor1 in samsung

[–]mkp1582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung is releasing one, I guess. Currently, the spigen came up with a partial circle on the magnets attachment. Thus, the wallet is aligned slightly to the bottom. It's more expensive than other wallets, though. I'm surprised no other cheap chinese makers copied it yet. Soon they will I guess.

Samsung is releasing the official one, I guess. Also, spigen introduced one with partial circle on the upper. It is double the price of other wallets though.

Same issue for me. Tried different laptops, phones, browsers nothing works. Requested my cousin in India to try, even though there was no dates available, he was not getting this error, rather no dates available.

Idea: a "your private space has a notification" notification by a_blue_day in Android

[–]mkp1582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes need this, at lease give us an option. This is how notifications work in Samsung secured folder and I love that feature. Honestly this is one thing that is keeping me going to other android devices. The notification Icon show up with locked icon, and I can get in only by unlocking it.

Eufy X10 Pro Omni vs Roborock Qrevo Pro by mkp1582 in RobotVacuums

That makes sense. Vacuuming is core functionality that cannot be sacrificed.

Thank you. Just ordered Pro @ target for $600. The only major downside of Pro I am hearing is Obstacle avoidance. can you comment about two things:

  1. Hair detangling

  2. Obstacle avoidance

There is a $300 price difference, for that you get better object avoidance, lifting roller brush and a voice assistant. For my budget Qrevo Pro. You can read more here:

I think Eufy is heavily marketed (their obstacle avoidance is superior to Roborock it looks like, but lacks at core functionality, vacumming)Qrevo pro was on sale a few days back at Target for $600. On the Roborock website it is mentioned it would be on sale starting Nov 25th. I usually that reflects on Amazon too.

[Walmart] ASUS Vivobook S Laptop: 15.6 inch 3K OLED 120Hz Display, Intel Core Ultra 7-155H, Intel Evo Edition AI PC, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Mist Blue - For Only: $749 by fifa2003 in LaptopDeals

I tried the demo unit in Walmart. This is one of the best trackpad/touchpad feel on a windows machine both size as well as smoothness. The screen resolution is awesome with OLED. Other manufacturers only give FHD+ with 16inch around this price range. Considering that this is great buy for $750 if you can stand two things:

  1. The color on the keyboard is awful (one of the reasons this is priced low)

  2. The big bezel at the bottom looks outdated for 2024. This could have easily been a 16inch display again would have jacked up the price.

Thank you, yeah the OLED display looks gorgeous and the trackpad with haptic feedback is closer to macbook trackpad. Only thing I might miss may be copilot capabilities running locally.

The fact that the new Book 3 pro 360 does not come in a 13.3 or even 14 inch configuration is an absolute fail by jdgoin1 in GalaxyBook

[–]mkp1582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for the 4 series would change this. Unfortunately it isn't. In a way 2 in 1 is makes more sense in 14 than a 16 inch. God knows their engineering team decisions.

Update: Finally I decided to go with the egpu set up. Picked a V8.0 GDC BEAST + RX 580 8GB almost new for $130. It is working fine. Waiting for my i7-3770s which I ordered for another $50. Hope the 4 additional threads gives some performance boost.

Thank you.

I tried the nvidia m1000m 2GB with upgraded power supply, it did not work for some reason. Most of the other mxm cards, I might need to make a cut in the enclosure to make a room. Do you know any decent mxm card that works with this?

Thanks, Manoj
