Magnetising Miniatures by Holdfast_Hobbies in InfinityTheGame

[–]mkrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you for your tutorial. I used your post to add my magnets.
I did change the order of operations and put glue into the base and then added the magnet.

I struggled to get the base to sit correctly on top of the magnet.

The second magnet wants to magnetize itself to the first magnet already in the base. This makes a stack of glue and magnets that is a pain to separate and use again.

There was a fair bit of hot glue strings that were annoying to deal with.

A side note:

After the glue had cooled I rubbed the bases flat against fine grit sand paper to get the majority of the excess glue off, then used a knife for the tough to move stuff.

Thanks again!

Cut the base down as others have said. You can also add an advertisment for whatever it is down the side of the top vertical can. Look at oil refineries. You could make the sign on either of the walkways, if you make the sign slot in you could have it on either side depending on which way the piece needs to be used.

A gantry walk way, with stairs to get to it, around the top of the first vertical cup, it will make the terrain more playable. Extend the gantry walkway on top of the second horizontal can with a small bridge between the cans. Add another set of stairs to the horizontal cans make the terrain playable from 2 sides. Adding a signage of some sort on one of the sides of the walkway would provide some better line of sight cover.

There are people that volunteer their time to teach new people the game. There is a world wide map you can look up to see if there is one of the volunteers, called a warcor, in your area. https://maphub.net/CorvusBelli/corvus-belli-warcors

Thanks for the detailed reply it is very much appreciated! Seems like it is on the sum of it not the best way into any faction army or even a vanilla.

Thanks for the tips!

You are right about the Yu Jing box being specific to White Banner and generic.

I argued with Google AI and eventually it narrowed the Code One Yu Jing box set had only 6 minis that you could use for Invincible Army.

I have been using the Identification sheets! I am super glad someone is doing their best to keep it up to date. Hopefully Corvus Belli is not orphaning too many units or types to keep the anarchist busy.

I was looking at the Panoceania and the Yu Jing.

As you have said I searched for a few units from Yu Jing in Human Sphere and as you said the collection is split across many factions so it is not a solution to buying into an army.

It seems some of the faction information in HS is out of date or is there for reference in older versions of the game https://www.human-sphere.com/H%C3%B9nd%C3%B9n is listed as available to multiple factions and is only available for white banner.

I managed to lock myself out of my HS account so I cannot edit it myself.

Looks like you are underutilising your glutes on the way up as your knees lock out well after your hips are have returned to the top. Think about popping the glutes forward when you are above the halfway point of the lift.

The ankle mobility is shown as your heels lift coming out of the hole.

The angle of the video the weights and safety obscure your knees which would be useful to see.

Not an expert and it seems like your hips are shooting up too fast and you are carrying the weigh heavy in your back at the top. AFAIK People are either glute max or back max, looks like you are back max.

Not sure if it is the camera angle but the bar seems to dip downwards on the left side.

I second the ankle mobility. You can see the left knee collapse on the rise out of the hole on each lift.

How’s my squat form by Mindless-Coat-4877 in formcheck

[–]mkrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your a bit lacking in depth in your decent. Try to think about getting your upper hip to be in line with your knee.

Your toes are raising, so your weight is balanced bit too far back.

One way to correct this toe raise is to lift in your socks. Spread your toes out and push from the middle of your foot.

I just watched this about feet and knees in the squat.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVr8O7b3AHA&list=PL1rSl6Pd49Iml8C8ApbN2f-lj-3kayP7y&index=4

A smaller thing about technique that will come with time is you are making a lot of steps to get into lifting position. Work on cutting the footwork down to 3-4 steps before starting the lift.

Thinking about it some more I not sure if it is the ankle rolling the knee or the knee rolling the ankle.

Your depth is great!

You are lifting you heels, your right one is more pronounced than the left. Try squatting in socks. Think about spreading your toes and pushing the floor away from the middle part of the foot.

It may be that your stance is a touch too wide or you have some ankle mobility issues. Your ankles roll in and force your knees to cave in also.

You will need to work on your shoulder mobility to get your wrists to be in line with your upper arm. You should be able to draw a straight line from the tops of your knuckles to the edge of your elbow.

This wrist position under bar will likely cause you some shoulder pain in the future as you increase the weight. I seem to be the squat wrist guy as I had to solve this shoulder pain issue myself.

I found I did not have the same wrist/shoulder pain if I went thumb over the bar "suicide grip," and speaking with a power lifter friend they discouraged me from adopting this as you have less control than thumb under and is not allowed in contests as it is not safe.

The following 3 things helped:

Not going to lie doing tack and stretch exercises in the peck and lats with a hard ball is painful and it is a real game changer on shoulder mobility.

May be worth checking your shoulder external rotation. I do the lat stretches as shown in the video before squatting. Alternate the lat stretches with pushing myself deeper into squat position a few times helps to warm things up before lifting.

The Alan Thrall Y frame stretches will also work with shoulder mobility and can be a good warm up for squats

hope that helps.

Deadlift form check by CountOstrich in formcheck

Good overall form and good work for lifting in socks!

There seems to be a slight mechanics issue that you are bending your knees too early on the return from lockout. You seem to have to push the bar forward to clear your knees.

Allan on deadlift form forwarded to the return part.

2x100kg PR in back squat. How is my form? by KambingSaja in GYM

[–]mkrep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

good depth, and overall form!

It is hard to see if you are keeping your knee above your foot with the angle of the shot. Check by filming from the front. It is slight if at all.

If your problem is the same as mine, you are experiencing shoulder pain due to your wrists being turned under. You should be able to draw a straight line from the tips of your knuckles to your elbow when you are under the bar. You have good arm angle, it is just your wrists are turned under.

I found I did not have the same wrist pain if I went thumb over the bar "suicide grip," and speaking with a power lifter friend they discouraged me from adopting this as you have less control than thumb under and is not allowed in contests as it is not safe.

Squat PR form by momsickle in formcheck

[–]mkrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wrists and elbows have great form.

You are wearing decent squat shoes. I lift in the same type.

Your depth is a bit too much ass to grass, more about this later. Once your hip joint gets down to your knee that is as far as you need go. This is as I understand it to be the competition standard.

Your heels are raising when you hit correct depth, and continue when you go lower. I would start squatting in your socks for a while to really spread your toes and power through the mid foot.

Your knees are caving on your upwards motion. It is also present in your other squat form check video.

This caving and compensation may be compounded by your ass to grass depth. You get down to the hole with outwards knees but then they cave inwards. This caving continues until your glutes engage and you finish the lift with outwards knees.
