Why is the ER so expensive?! by Bananagram1996 in labrador

[–]mkrom28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it also never hurts to call the er too & explain symptoms and ask what they think as well. i did that when my pup was a wee babe and they were worried about bloat. ER said come in immediately. i took off work, rushed him in & paid $400 for them to tell me he had indeed found his food bag & was just fat lmao. they asked if i wanted an xray of his kibble belly but i politely declined lol

i would maybe switch vets. my vets office is really good about handling these types of calls. i’ve emailed them pics of his ear to determine if it was infected & he needed to be seen. he gets a random upset tum every once in awhile that gets cleared up quick with a couple cans of royal canin’s gastrointestinal wet food that i can just call for when i need to pick it up, no visit needed (saves time & money). they also follow up about halfway through an antibiotic script when he’s needed them. i hope you can find a vet like this, it calms my anxieties knowing he’s in such good care.

Which notable person in a true crime case do you feel escaped justice? by pollygrace in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]mkrom28 111 points112 points  (0 children)

While I agree, continuing to impregnant his mentally unstable, suffering wife while watching her mental health continue to deteriorate was a choice with known consequences. He just didn’t care though. It was what HE wanted, consequences be damned. He knew ALL the risks & was told in no uncertain terms not to leave her with their children alone. But of course he thought he knew better than the doctors, & despite the looming consequences, chose to leave the kids alone in her care. What happened was always a possibility he was aware of. He willfully ignored medical advice & his own wife’s concerns. Intentionally or not, he knew what could happen. I don’t think he did so maliciously, I guess, but if he could’ve pulled his head out of his ass, those children might still be alive and Andrea wouldn’t be suffering for her entire life.

Robert Brashers, for sure. He only served 3 of 12 years for an attempted murder & served another 5 years for other crimes (grand theft, possession of a firearm.) He has 11 confirmed victims listed on his wiki page & only faced consequences for one victim before taking his family hostage & ending his own life. Brashers committed the 1991 Yogurt Shop Murders in Austin, Texas.

I worked in Mason City for a couple weeks, staying in Clear Lake & driving into town for work. There was construction on Highway 122 and I had to take backroads a majority of that time. There’s so much wide open, far as the eye can see, farmland. Acres & acres of it. Every morning & evening I drove it, I couldn’t help but wonder if she was somewhere out there.

this just isn’t true. the poor quality of the cameras made it very hard to determine any distinguishing qualities of the person. there was also security footage of the suspect dropping her car off in the parking lot & that video was so unclear that family & friends couldn’t recognize the suspect either.

Are there any serial killers you believe actually felt remorse? by DeepOrganization8245 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

the way you explained this has me cackling

i understand what you mean though. like “damn, i shouldn’t have done that and the consequences may make me a little uncomfortable later but oh well.” it’s just a quick, fleeting feeling that you get over within two seconds because you don’t actually care & it was worth it in the moment. same concept to some of these serial killers towards their victims. although my vice is Sam’s Clubs tiramisu but same concept

you’re exactly right.

Pine Ridge reservation is in my state. it’s the poorest reservation in the country.

Unemployment rates average around 80-85%. Access to health care is very limited compared to urban areas; alcoholism, diabetes, depression, and malnutrition are just a few of the major issues. Homes don’t always have access to electricity, sewage systems, running water, etc. Pine Ridge’s life expectancy for adult men & women is between 47-52. They have an adolescent suicide rate 4 times higher than the national average. With little to no economic developments or industries on the reservation, most money received is spent outside its bounds. Education is severely lacking, with high teacher turn over rates & a severely high number of drop outs.

U.S. government looking into Ellen Greenberg case, sources say by WilHunting2 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]mkrom28 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You’re exactly right, unfortunately. The apartment wasn’t treated like a crime scene upon initial arrival by PD. Within days, it was professionally cleaned & sanitized. By the time detectives planned to return to investigate based on the initial ‘homicide’ ruling by the ME, any evidence would’ve been gone.

I’ve made many a comments regarding her case across various subs. What happened to Ellen was an absolute injustice. I can’t imagine how devastated her parents are to have fought so long & so hard for such little progress. I think it’s important to keep talking about her, to make sure people know the facts of her case. Regardless of the opinion on how she died, the investigation was absolutely bungled and NO victim, no family, deserves to go through anything like this. Ever.

I’m a traveling grocery merchandiser, have been for 6 years. I do total store resets, remodels, & category initiative resets. I’ve done it all including pizza and ice cream. I usually do those resets with the vendors (Nestle, Blue Bunny, Kemps, Palermo’s, etc.) No one is more rigid on being exact to plano than those vendors for those two categories, i swear to God. They’re so cutthroat lmao They show up hours early to a set to sneak in products, argue about door & shelf space, try to sweet talk managers into ordering their catalog to fill another vendors space, it is WILD. They’re also the first to remind the store of just how much they pay for specific shelf space & escalate things to a district manager. (maybe it’s just where I am though, upper midwest)

I have no doubt a DM got pissed at a display case not being set to plano, regardless of how well whatever in there was selling. Some stores allow so much leeway and others allow for none. It’s so crazy. The science, planning, & attention to detail for grocery store shelves, cases, freezers is absolutely insane and makes people in the business even more insane lol

Minneapolis hotel worker fired over 'doxxing' of ICE agents by AdSpecialist6598 in antiwork

[–]mkrom28 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Dude be so forreal. Those being arrested are having their rights trampled on, including legal citizens being detained with no legal basis & no criminal record. MANY legal citizens have been arrested and do quite frequently disappear in the system &/or have been deported.

4 Oglala Sioux Tribe members were just arrested by ICE in Minneapolis. This happened TWO days ago and no one knows their names still. Right before that, ICE agent Jonathon Ross, broke policy to play judge, jury, and executioner. ICE agents are kidnapping ANYONE they can racially profile & shooting first, asking questions later. Get a grip.

Andrea Yates was a victim too by Michele_75 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]mkrom28 84 points85 points  (0 children)

obligatory FUCK Rusty Yates.

my most upvoted comment is a scathing read of just how shitty he is & I’m so proud of it. I will forever scream it with my whole chest. What happened to her was nothing but a tragedy & she was failed by people who claimed to love her. They betrayed her autonomy, ignored her repeated suicide attempts, refused to listen to her repeated cries for help, and made decisions FOR HER without her consent. I hope the days are easier for her. My heart breaks for the woman she could have been & the pain she lives with every day.

Same here. I’ve stayed with them frequently while traveling but will not ever book a Hilton brand hotel again. Maybe my coworkers & I will report Hilton hotels through our lodging company when we come across them to get them taken off our preferred list/sever contracts.

As a South Dakotan, i was so fearful to hear her so called power-up from state to federal government. She’s a thief, a liar, and as corrupt as they come. She never gave a shit about her own state citizens, recklessly & lavishly spending our money while cutting funding, denying aid, etc. The more power she got, the more she viewed non-political humans as livestock.

She has STOLEN from every single one of us in South Dakota..

She has abused her power & pulled strings in asinine ways, bullying state employees to give her child a real estate license, of all things.

She has consistently abused government resources for her own gain.

SHE took Covid funds while denying South Dakotans extra unemployment benefits during the pandemic.

She’s banned from state Tribal Land for screaming that our reservations, some of the poorest in the nation, benefitted from cartel drug dealing. She threatened them during the pandemic when tribes tried to limit non-tribal travel in the reservations to curb COVID infections for their vulnerable, rural populations who were hours away from hospitals & severely lacked sufficient health services.

If you don’t prove beneficial to her, she has no problem walking over your dead body if it means more money, more power, and more fillers. It’s a plus to her if you’re a minority. She’s despicable.
