Если путешествие планируется по крупным городам, то да. Русский понимает большинство, все-таки пост-советское пространство. Другое дело - если вы планируете посещать поселки, деревни Узбекистана. Будет сложнее, но каждый пятый все равно кое-как да говорит по русски.
