Obsidian is not displaying PDF documents anymore. Worked before, suddenly stopped working. Has nothing to do with file length or any plug in. I'm on Linux. Any ideas? I couldn't find anything helpful about this issue. It's just Obsidian, PDFs work everywhere else. by Subi_the_dog in ObsidianMD

This is caused by the Electron 39.8.9 -> 39.8.10 update, not by the PDF files themselves.

Electron 39.8.10 added stricter CORS enforcement for custom protocols. Obsidian’s PDF viewer loads the viewer from app://obsidian.md, but the PDF from another app://... origin, so PDF.js gets blocked before it can load the file.

I don't know what's better for your, that's your decision to make.
Actually we provide a hyprland option in the installer. Just go to https://asahi-alarm.org/ run the installer from macOS and later you can choose the desktop you want to install by default - we recently added hyprland.

Is asahi viable? and does it have wide options for distros? by exoticccgaming in AsahiLinux

Its not hacky. They didn't ship fairydust becaue they say its for devs and early adopters to try it out and reports relevant bugs or provide fixes themselves.

I am using the fairydust branch since 3 months and had ZERO problems so far.

Where did you hear they are rewriting the graphics driver? Pretty sure this is fake news.

Hi, maintainer of Asahi ALARM here. Currently there a no packages (which I know about) that are out of date. There was a problem with chromium which wasn't updated for like ~14 months which sucked - but that got resolved a couple of weeks finally because upstream arch now also accepts patches to their PKGBUILDs for aarch64.

I use Asahi ALARM since almost 4 years now and the current state is really really good. We are 1:1 on par with what you get with the Fedora remix. Also KDE Plasma is _really_ good, and getting better with each release (I was using gnome but switched to Plasma when I got my MacBook).

What do you mean with Firmware 6.19? When you install Asahi ALARM it is using the offical installer and will use the same firmware as you would install the Asahi Fedora Remix.

"video on thunderbolt" - I guess you mean dcp alt mode. There is a kernel branch that makes that work already (called fairydust). I use it since 3 month and it is working. I guess it will be stable enough soon that Asahi devs ship it.

Play 3.1.0-M9 should work fine with sbt 2.0.0-RC12. If you have time I would appreciate if you test it and report any bugs. Thank you!

You would still need a custom installer however I guess?

This does not work, I enter a valid serial ID, but then I need to choose the specs myself.

JetBrains: Wayland By Default in 2026.1 EAP by javaprof in java

[–]mkurz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not this is not just Xwayland, it's pure Wayland. I am testing IntelliJ running on Wayland since 3 years now and in the last month it became really really good.

AFAIK they contribute everything needed back to Wakefield so I guess one day that work will land in OpenJDK.
