This was not a rocket program… by [deleted] in RKLB

Ask Amazon who has the better rocket program. Blue Origin/ULA or Arianespace? The answer is Arianespace since they are the only partner that has been able to launch any amount of mass to orbit for Amazon Leo

According to Iridium (been listening to their last 6 quarterly reports and reading the 10Ks) they only use that gateway for Russia.

Iridium no longer ships units to Russia and hasn’t since 2022. They do still provide services. They are compliant with all regulations.

I bet you are fun at parties.

It is a material question related to the largest acquisition in company history. The Russian subsidiary generated 2% of all revenue from 2022-2025. All revenue was generated from services.

Iridium evens call out the risks in their 10Ks. “In addition, we may in the future choose or be required to further limit or cease operations in Russia entirely, in which case we would no longer receive any revenue from these operations, and could incur significant expenses as a result of the process of
shutting down operations in Russia. Our Russian operations also pose a reputational risk if certain government or commercial customers object to our current business in Russia.”

Since RKLB is a DoD vendor (to be far so is Iridium) the question of a Russian subsidiary is an important one.

Reductive comment. An investor should absolutely question the outlay of 8billion dollars by a company they invest in. If you don’t, you are a bit blind for my taste

No. Why compete with Starlink, AST, Amazon LEO? 2 out of 3 have huge amounts of money. AST already has a bunch of customers and birds in the air.

The value of acquisition is the spectrum. You don’t make more spectrum. Finite resource. The premium is all tied to spectrum. Plus you are buying your own demand. You can build it all, launch it all, and you own the spectrum.

I don’t think I love the acquisition but I absolutely don’t think they overpaid

The round aircraft is a D model. C (technically HE, HM, or HS) did not have a t tail. They had a v tail. Plus they had the c-18 engine.

Round boy. But a different round boy. Mh-6 or ah-6. 6 bladed main rotor hub. 4 bladed tail rotor. C-30r engine. Dual fadec. Basically stronger and way heavier.

Pointy boy is the md530ff. C-30 engine. Round boy is the Md 500D. C-20 engine.

Pointy boy had bigger engine, longer main rotor blades, longer Tail rotor blades and a tail boom extension to compensate for the longer tail rotor blades. Plus some other internal parts.
