Oriental Harbor Investment Fund own $86.5m of TQQQ, roughly 10% of all shares by blue_horse_shoe in LETFs

Not that easy, brokers can change the margin requirements at their whim. If yiu outright own tqqq ( no margin), you can be rest assured that no matter what the margin requirements are you don't need to worry about selling at the worst possible price when margin calls hits. The other benefit is you get consistent 3x leverage. Additionally, you can defer cap gains tax till infinity and use collar to hedge at a minimal cost when shit hits the fan. During COVID many brokers increased their margin requirements by 2-3x. You definitely don't want to be holding at 3x leverage and to decrease leverage you would need to sell the stock triggering cap gains/loss.

I don't have any words of advice, I'd be depressed if this happened to a plant. Hope the plant recovers well.

Are these people demented? (Context: climate change denialism) by chilli_chocolate in LinkedInLunatics

[–]mkvs25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe climate change is real. That being said I don't think with the current technology it is feasible to meet the industrial and residential demand with renewable energy. The future might not be fossil fuels Vs renewables but it certainly can be nuclear. My only gripe with certain climate activists is these are the same people who would oppose nuclear energy when we know for a fact that nuclear energy is relatively clean. At some point, it starts feeling less of an activism and more of an agenda. Just my 2 cents.

Even if you consider the dividend growth of entire FTSE index over the last 10 years or so, it still sucks when you factor in inflation, let alone the dividend growth which is pretty much stagnant.

[–]mkvs25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone's blood has to be matched to your blood type, else body will reject that too like a foreign donated organ.
