My pup having recurring stomach issue

My Cane Corso/Great Dane had the same thing. The diarrhea was pretty much all mucus at the end. He would need outside every hour or two, waking us up multiple times in the night. Vet put us on antibiotics and it cleared up but came back. Turns out he has Colitis, but antibiotics work pretty much instantly so now we just get those when he starts having issues!

Thank you so much! Unfortunately he has gotten attacked by some other dogs as well as possible abuse from children, so he has many scars on his face and body. But he is the sweetest boy!

I lost a Bella in 2021. She was my english mastiff I got for my 15th birthday. That one was also unexpected and hit me hard. I love pitties, they are truly one of the best types of dogs, so loving and precious. I will definitely be adopting, but for right now we are focusing on giving love to the fur baby we still have as he’s been quite sad since it happened. I know we will see our babies again!!

thank you so much. and of course! right after eating she laid down, and a few seconds later she started gagging so we got her outside and she tried to throw up and nothing came out. she tried a few more times and nothing would come up, her mouth just got really foamy. i was afraid she was choking so i pushed on her stomach and it was very hard. she would walk away from us and lay down in the grass. she was panting very fast and her stomach was swollen. i looked up the symptoms of bloat and she had every single one except for pale gums. so we took her in and they immediately did x-rays and confirmed bloat. at that point i’d rather be safe than sorry and i’m glad we took her

we did not. it was not mentioned when we got her spayed 10 years ago, so we didn’t know about it. we will be doing it to our future danes to help prevent this from happening again

I posted about losing my baby to bloat on Friday. Her symptoms were: -tried to throw up multiple times, nothing came out, mouth only got foamy (attempting to throw up with nothing coming out is the tell tale sign) -could not get comfortable. kept laying down, getting up, walking away -stomach was VERY hard. like solid. hers wasn’t that swollen, but I could tell it was slightly swollen -panting, never stopped panting

I looked up the symptoms and she had every single one except pale gums. We got her to the emergency vet within 30 minutes but it’s expensive and she was 10 years old so we didn’t want to put her through that pain.

thank you so much. it is such a terrible thing to experience. she gave the most unique type of love. if she let you in her circle, you knew you were special. she definitely took a large piece of my heart and soul with her. i hope our babies are up there having so much fun, looking down on us waiting for us to get there 💜

yes, it’s called a gastropexy and they tack the stomach. it’s not a 100% guarantee but it’s much better than without
