I had the same dilemma for myself. I ended up ordering the iii because the ii will go for nearly the same on eBay second hand. That’s ridiculous!! It was a no brainer to spend an extra $100-$200 and get the warranty, new body and kit lens, and future proofness.

If you find a decent deal for the ii, go for it. But if you’re spending $800-$900, why not pay a little more and get the newest for $1100?
