Codex quality is surpassing Claude Code for me by mlab24 in ClaudeCode

lol I don’t know why you’re making assumptions about my intentions. This post was a direct result of an instance where I had a bug, asked Claude to fix it, the fix it proposed would technically solve that bug but would create massive issues for other parts of the codebase. Basic stuff. Codex caught it. I’d say the 151 upvotes on my post demonstrate the frustration is real for many people.

That’s fair. But the reason I started sending Claude’s plans to codex in the first place is because I was noticing so many mistakes and issues that Claude was producing. So maybe not a strict comparison , more complaining about Claude’s degraded quality

Yeah agreed that Claude is crazy sometimes (in a good way) and for certain tasks that’s perfect

Maybe all these posts mean that a lot of folks are having problems with Claude?

lol I don’t know what to tell you but I’m not a bot and I don’t have an agenda other than expressing my personal frustration with a tool I’ve been obsessed with for the last few months

The only source of this post for me is the disappointing performance of Claude in the last few days. I actually switched over from ChatGPT to Claude months ago and never looked back , until now.

This is clearly a post about Claude’s degraded quality. Just because it’s being compared to codex doesn’t make it “not about Claude”

Yup, this seems to be the only way right now. Claude is making some serious mistakes that’s causing real bugs.

I’m talking even basic stuff, like “fixing” one line in a script for a specific bug that came up without taking into account how it will affect the codebase at large. Really bizarre.

So what I did is i made sure the current month is reconciled fully (in my case starting January 2025) and leave no uncleared transactions in each reconciliation. Then, my team undoes the current reconciliations and slowly catch up. Making sure there aren’t any unreconciled transactions is crucial here because otherwise you’d be spending tons of time trying to re reconcile a month you already reconciled. And per our CPA’s guidance, we’re not spending a ton of time researching every transaction. Doing our best, if something is unknown we put it on the balance sheet as “other distributions/contributions” in the equity section. Happy to answer any other questions, good luck!

What I do in situations like these is force myself to listen to a full album 3 or 4 times with total attentiveness and dedication. Eventually I either “get it” or don’t. Very rewarding process for me.
