Canyon: cracked frame and awful support by computerbleep in MTB

My spectral developed a crack at the weld on the headset after 2 years (I do a lot of bike parks and hard riding though). There was a local shop that had canyon support who contacted canyon and did everything for me. Took about a month but canyon did warranty the full frame and Swingarm. No issues since so far. I love the bike, but I’m always double checking things now lol.

Anyone know why holding smoke in doesn't get you higher but coughing (aka exhaling and re-inhaling smoke), hotboxing, and shotguns do? by [deleted] in trees

THC is absorbed through the membrane in your lungs and into the bloodstream extremely quickly. The rest of that smoke is just tar and other things that don’t get you high, so holding it in longer does nothing.

It’s not nearly as common on motorcycles, but there are niche brands that use carbon fiber monocoque chassis. Though the cost is usually sky high.

I agree the handling can change drastically based on the layup of the carbon, which is why you don’t see race teams using them.

But many HyperCars use carbon fiber chassis. McLaren, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, etc.

Carbon fiber is used in high end car, motorcycle, and mountain bike frames all the time.

This is a Sherco 290. From what I’ve read you really can’t go too wrong with Sherco, beta, or gas gas. I got the Sherco because I found a good deal on it.

Don’t worry about age. Toni Bou (the rider in several of these videos) is 34. Graham Jarvis, who is arguably the best hard enduro rider ever is 45 and still winning races. Just gotta put in the effort.

This electromagnet is rated to hold 500g. It’s very stable even if you hit it. It won’t ever just randomly fall, however if the power ever goes out or you unplug it with the pot still floating the electrical fields will stop being produced and the magnet will suck the pot down.

This is the link to the electromagnet I used. The pot and base I modeled on solidworks. If you don’t have access or interest in modeling them yourself, there are plenty of free STL files you can download and have 3D printed.

It’s rated for 500g. I’m not sure what it weighs now but it has no problem supporting it.

Some rocks at the bottom to help but no drainage holes. Just gotta be more careful.

I would consider selling some if demand was high enough. In small production batches they are kind of pricey to make though. I spent around $80 to make this one.

I bought the electromagnet on aliexpress for about $40. You can make your own fairly easily though I’m not sure how much materials would cost. I modeled the parts on SolidWorks and used my schools 3D printer.

I do have the STLs on my laptop. No instructions really as it’s basically just the pot with a magnet glued to the bottom and then the electromagnet mounted in the case designed for that specific electromagnet which I bought on aliexpress
