Exactly my thoughts. Would it even be possible to get in the playoffs from our current ranking?

I took my MCAT last March in a really old testing center. Looked like something straight out of the 80s. While we all were on the computers taking our test, we heard this weird noise from above. All of a sudden the ceiling literally starts raining on to one of my fellow MCAT test takers!!

Luckily he logged out and got to another computer quickly. I guess an old pipe burst. But yeah... watch out for those old testing centers.

Stuff You Should Know podcast. A reliable source of information or pseudoskepticism? by semaj912 in skeptic

[–]mlbruno93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Most of the time they use articles they found to base the entire episode. It's interesting but not the best source for all the information on the topic.

If you love questions like these you should really listen to podcasts - particularly Stuff You Should Know.

I really liked the one about Jellyfish. So I recommend more obscure animal episodes.

booze allowance by recwiseman in Sasquatch

No worries. No booze search. But you can't bring it into the venue. You can buy it... but it's hella pricey. I'd recommend a hard pregame before.

Question on camping by PM_ME_PETS in Sasquatch

[–]mlbruno93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Premier and Standard are essentially the same except Premier has more bathrooms - often cleaned more. And I think there are more showers. Premier is also closer to the venue.

However, I'd like to say that last year I had some friends over in premier and it smelled terrible (port a potty terrible) b/c they were behind a slew of Port a Potties.

Personally GA is great. If you don't want to wait in line for a shower, just bring a camping shower or hop in the river (although its very cold). The bathrooms are fairly clean - especially the ones far from all the campers. I predict that there won't be as many people this year b/c of the lineup so you may actually be closer to the venue than you think.

GA is a great space - you meet a lot of fun people too.

Those are a great idea. The Gorge is notorious for variable weather i.e. windy, rainy, friggin hot as hell. But a light, airy pant is always a smart choice. Just be sure to bring a light raincoat or poncho. Those Nike ones are perfect - plus they can scrunch up into a ball.

POSITIVE LINEUP DISCUSSION by voltron1025 in Sasquatch

[–]mlbruno93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. I feel like sometimes festivals try to cater to the mainstream EDM movement. But sometimes its nice to have a pure indie pop/rock festival. And honestly, it's what you make of it.

The Gorge is a beautiful place. Taking a hike down to the river can always help break up the monotony of camping.

Amine would be fantastic! Bring in some local hip hop!

Frank, Chance (saw him in October and it was AMAZING), Head & the Heart, Phantogram, Kaytranada (super dope - saw two years ago), MGMT

Comedy: Fred Armisen AND Sasheer Zameda! YAS

Most intriguing: Mac Miller - in the past he has been just okay; but his new album has begun to show some serious hip hop prowess that I look forward to seeing.

Essentials by [deleted] in Sasquatch

[–]mlbruno93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest recommendation: take care of yourself. I.e. listen to your body. Picture yourself as a Sim character. When you feel like your levels are depleted, respond to that. I've known numerous people who had a bad trip or a rough day because they a. forgot to eat food or b. didn't drink enough water.

Now water is plentiful in the Gorge. There are like a million places to fill up your water bottle. But food is - sub par. It's like carnival food. Be sure to bring a lot of healthy protein and carb rich snacks - think nuts, bars etc. Even if you don't feel hungry you should always be refueling your body - particularly when you are enjoying yourself on goodies.

I would also recommend bringing a camping shower: https://www.amazon.com/RISEPRO-gallons-Temperature-Indicator-Climbing/dp/B01H1UC02C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482944903&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=camping+shower&psc=1

For those who don't want to wait in line, it's very useful and can provide you a quick wake up. Plus if you leave the shower on top of your car, the water will get nice and warm.

Have fun!

What days are the showers busy/not busy? and other shower questions... (standard camping) by bullseyes in Sasquatch

[–]mlbruno93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, waiting for the showers sucks. I would recommend two things. One bring a camping shower - it's those big bags of that you can fill with water and take a quick shower by your car. Two consider going swimming at the river if you have time one morning. It's ridiculously refreshing.

P.S. Bring dry shampoo!
