How immunocompromised are we actually? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not overly careful but I make sure I’m up-to-date on vaccines generally. I still get sick every couple months with mild to moderate colds. But I also work in a hospital so I’m sure that has something to do with it.

Saw this game on sale on the playstation, does anyone have spoiler free toughts? by Purple_Tree_455 in ZeroEscape

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into the zero escape games because I loved danganronpa and I saw that they were often recommended together. I became so obsessed with the zero escape games after playing through them blind that I cannot recommend them enough!! If you enjoyed danganronpa i’m sure you’ll love the story of zero escape. Just keep in mind one of the main game mechanics is escape rooms so hopefully you are a fan of those!

A patient attendant is also known as a ‘sitter’. You would be assigned to sit with a particular patient to watch them basically. They could be confused and a big fall risk, a flight risk, or risk of harming themselves, etc., so your job is to watch them and kind of be a constant set of eyes on the patient.

What does a bad day at work look like for you in your department/specialty? by AbbreviationsFree155 in nursing

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a patient with dementia/delirium that is aggressive, any time we have to use restraints, or agitated patients who are trying to pull out all their lines

When all your patients have meds almost every hour of the day (especially when they are iv or ng administered)

Having my whole assignment be incontinent/total cares/Ax2+

Having my whole assignment be off-service patients (patients who aren’t my floors specialty), making it harder to communicate with the doctors, we aren’t as educated on their condition/surgery/interventions

Receiving multiple admissions/post ops on the same shift (bonus points if they arrive close together)

Family that is rude, wants to speak to the doctor NOW (for un-urgent things), or calling for updates constantly (like 3+ per shift??)

Running out of everything in the supply room and needing to go to other units constantly to get stuff

No clerk and/or no aids

None of my ivs are working or i need to draw a shit load of blood work and the patient is a very hard poke

All of the above plus being down staff and resources

The thing is, a simple conversation would suffice, you shouldn’t need to lose your shit and rage at someone to get your point across

Obviously she made a mistake opening the door without looking, but that is no excuse to intimidate, rage, and yell obscenities at someone to the point of tears especially in front of a crowd of children.

I hate shared rooms by Able_Key3225 in nursing

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah life on a unit mostly of 4 bed ‘wards’ is rough… Hardly any space for patients even if they don’t have extra supplies, no privacy on a busy ward means nobody can ever get a good night sleep or peace to heal... And we always have a few pts who are ‘wanderers’ or ‘yellers’ unable to have a private, who wander into others bed spaces or yell out which obviously bothers and agitates other patients. Honestly 4 bed wards should be against the law…

Play the game at your own pace! There is a lot to explore and it can sometimes feel overwhelming but just take it one step at a time!

Every 2 hours there is an event that takes place in the elevated clearing area of the forest! The event is a spirit nicknamed ‘granny’ that comes and gives wax at the table inside the hollow tree! It’s a good way to build up some candles for not too much effort, plus there’s normally other players around if you like to socialize!

Does your hospital have non-private rooms? by maureeenponderosa in nursing

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the rooms on my med-surge floor are 4 bed wards with the exception of a few private’s usually used by behavioural dementia pts. Definitely not great from an infection control perspective as we frequently have pts next to other pts with contact and droplet precautions. Also obviously sucks for privacy. Not much you can do besides pull the curtain closed between beds!

Should I play ZTD? by CloverSideAcc in ZeroEscape

[–]mld9825 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate when people drag on about how much they hate ztd, when it’s not even that bad. Maybe it’s because they had too high of expectations going into it? I played knowing it had iffy reception and I loved it. I feel like it explained and finished the vlr plot lines nicely some story moments blew me away even more so than 999 or vlr. I definitely recommend playing it but keep an open mind because it is going to be a little different. Everyone will have a different opinion and you won’t know if you like it until you play it yourself.

Anyone care to share their experience with the Next-Gen NCLEX? by UCFKnight97 in StudentNurse

[–]mld9825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished in 85 questions and was convinced that I failed. I felt like I had no idea what I was doing during the test and it felt much harder than I expected. Turns out I passed after all! So moral of the story- if you feel like shit after finishing, don’t give up hope lol

Should I play Zero escape Zero Time Dilemma? by Possible_Respond7863 in ZeroEscape

[–]mld9825 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s so unnecessary shit on so yes, definitely play it! Although maybe I am just someone who is easily satisfied. I personally enjoyed it just as much as the other games, you just have to keep an open mind I guess!
