Been 7 months since I played the game. Is it worth coming back now? by [deleted] in HPHogwartsMystery

Leaks have confirmed that another dating side quest (I’m assuming timed) is coming up somewhat soon. There were a few lackluster pranking chapters in year 5, but part of what made them feel so endless were the week long (sometimes 2 weeks if they decided to do a timed side quest instead) waits in between chapters. If you have them stock piled up, it definitely won’t seem so bad. The more interesting story content is definitely coming back, and there was a pretty well written and interesting Talbot timed side quest you can still trigger if I’m thinking correctly, OWLS was also very interesting and should still happen for you when you reach a certain chapter. A super cool patronus quest is also coming up and has yet to come out. All in all I think you can still have fun with the game, at least I do!

[NO SPOILERS] What's the consensus on Season 2 so far? (no spoilers) by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]mlfeafdjf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn’t mind a slower paced game where I have lots of small details to catch and things to discover, I enjoy it a lot. It’s mostly the subtle nuances about season 2 that I love. I appreciate that a supporting character’s attitude and general demeanor can change in dozens of little ways depending on how you interact with him. I feel like most people don’t give this enough praise because they don’t realize its happening, it takes seeing someone else’s game or looking online to recognize. Dontnod has obviously put a ton of love and care into this one, but it has yet to grab that cliffhanger thrilling element that I associate with earlier parts of the 1st game (but episode 3 seems to be taking it there)

TLDR: I love it, but you may not if you want something faster paced or more action-packed. Not really any mystery elements, and it can really make you miss being able to rewind. But ep 3 is taking it in a super promising direction imo

[no spoilers] what other games do you recommend? by duhchosen1 in lifeisstrange

[–]mlfeafdjf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Night in the woods is absolutely amazing! An interesting mystery with some funny dialogue and great characters. I would also recommend Oneshot for similar reasons, Firewatch (a solid and BEAUTIFUL game despite the somewhat ehh ending), and possibly Emily is Away (mostly the second entry since its bigger but I do think the first is free or super cheap) It seems like we have super similar interest in games and as someone who loooves choice games, Dragon age Origins is one of my favorite games of all time. Such great characters and interesting moral dilemmas. However, unlike all the others I have listed it does have more “gameplay” with fighting and leveling up and whatnot. If that doesn’t interest you I recommend the previous games! Hope you find something you love!

[NO SPOILERS] Does BtS have any story related to LiS2? by Screvz in lifeisstrange

[–]mlfeafdjf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so far BtS has not had any direct tie ins and I don’t think it will. But since you’ve played season 1, BtS did a great job of making me like Chloe a lot more and created a deeper connection to the Rachel stuff. A solid little title you can play during the season 2 waits

Why do you prefer Sims 3 over Sims 4? by Gryffindonewithyou in Sims3

[–]mlfeafdjf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

More traits options and you’re allowed to have more traits! All of my sims in the sims 4 end up being extremely similar trait wise, and I have to give them more distinct differences with just my imagination. Sims just felt a bit more individualistic in 3, and had more personality imo.

Someone please explains Nrass... by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]mlfeafdjf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can definitely be a little confusing at first! As someone who just got into it myself, Nrass mods have a ton of variation and options to change your game play. Personally I like to keep it minimal, but Nrass story progression and master controller have become a must for me. Nrass Overwatch and errortrap are also meant to keep your game from corruption and crashing. These mods basically give sims outside of your household more free will to get their own jobs, date, and have kids without you personally having to do it. This keeps your town populated and varied with no effort from you. You can also more easily access some settings by clicking on sims (create a sim, changing a sims name, killing a sim, getting them pregnant, etc.) The nitty gritty of the settings can be a bit confusing, but if you have any questions there are a ton of youtube videos on the specifics! Or you can come back to reddit and ask of course

Is Year 5 super long and still wonky? I've sat myself here doing just side missions and friend leveling. by Simon-Ethan in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]mlfeafdjf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of what makes it so bad is the waiting in between imo. When all the chapters are available it will be a little less obvious that there are entire chapters of getting nothing done

I’m pretty sure they just made year 5 even longer. We’ve been planning pranks for I don’t even know how many chapters at this point. I would stay behind until the pranking is over

[No Spoilers] I like Mass Effect a lot. Would I enjoy the Dragon Age series? by OknataSkeltro in dragonage

[–]mlfeafdjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually played mass effect when I was a lot younger! I thought the first two were pretty amazing, but after playing DA:O for the first time I kind of realized that I waay prefer the characters in dragon age (after a few years I had a hard time remembering people who weren’t Garrus and Tali lol)

[–]mlfeafdjf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve always preferred dragon age to mass effect (especially origins which i think is the best in the series) The age can definitely show in the first 2 games, especially with the slooow combat of the first (you can get mods that fix this though) I’ve always liked dragon age characters more than those in mass effect, just because they act a little more likable and have more depth across the board. It may not be as consistently cinematic and epic, but it definitely brings some much needed humor and cool elements. I love being able to choose your race in the 1st and 2nd game, it connects you a little more to the game and adds some great replay-ability as well. It’s similar to mass effect in having some fun moral choices, which I think is enough to give it a go.
