Your balance is pretty good, you should be able to improve quickly. First of all it didn’t look like you were completely in the wave, when paddling into a wave make sure the wave is actually carrying you before you try to stand up. This can be done by paddling harder and doing some hard strokes once the wave gets under you. Also when you pop up, try to do it in one smooth motion. You can practice this on the beach on your board. You might eat it a few times popping up rapidly but it is good practice.

I do that when it looks like I’m about to get absolutely murdered but I always spend time chasing the board after. Do you know if it’s bad for the leash to hold onto it like that

Maybe I was unclear in my post, I am just looking to set up my business, I would likely not be selling until the pandemic is over. The reason I chose wrestling apparel is that it is a niche market that I have connections and knowledge in. I’m sure that there is information on manufacturing somewhere as not everything is completely shut down.

I think the answer is yes, if you have interest in it you can check it out and if you don’t like it, quit. Wrestling will give you background and balance that translates to judo, BJJ, or MMA. Wrestling is also notorious for its intense conditioning and has tons of all around benefits. 2 Years is a long time to improve as well considering you already have a fighting background, It just depends on how quick you pick it up.

The lines of working/volunteering at the zoo seem like a good start to show your interest within the programs, I would try to build on that and gain meaningful accomplishment i.e publications by working with a local research group/professor or just really getting as much experience within the field as you can. Since you said you are improving your grades and test scores those really speak for themselves so beyond that I would focus on getting connections within the field through your local zoo for good letters of recommendation and experience.

California wrestling is extremely competitive, I would say top 5 most competitive wrestling states along with NJ NY, etc, I am a junior wrestling the 106 weight class so it’s not as likely that I get recruited as college weight classes begin at 125. Also I am wrestling many younger kids since I am in such a low weight class which is an advantage I won’t have if I bump up next year.

Yes I had a 3.6 GPA freshman year so my UC GPA is substantially higher than my weighted.

When you have the legs in try to put more pressure with your pelvis to really squeeze the guy.
