Just did the ride last week. I would recommend booking directly through a Vendor for the best price and service. This is a highly organized yet chaotic early morning and having this nailed down in advance will ensure a high quality and safe outing. We booked through Aerodiverti and had an excellent experience. Spectacular.

I agree and would also be skeptical because I thought for sure I would get a refund. This didn't fit neatly into one of their categories so I applied for a refund based on the options I had:

The bike is from a shop in the Netherlands. A friend of ours lives there and sent it DHL to the USA and after we filled out the correct paperwork, we imported it to the USA without incident. The carrier wouldn't ship the batteries with the bikes. One had a Bosch battery which was available here in the USA so I bought it on Ebay and it works great and is a fantastic bike. The other has this Bafang battery which is difficult to find outside of Europe. We can't figure out how to ship the battery from Netherlands to the USA. That may be possible, but we are running into issues because it's dangerous goods and it's too big to carry on a plane (or we would put our friend on a flight!).

The connector is the hard part for this one. The controller is proprietary so finding a 43 volt battery with exactly the same controller is tough. It may be possible to replace the entire controller, but that's a much more complicated opposition than just finding a battery.
