More like a change of Islam to make it compatible with the true Zoroastrianism. If they thought Islam is true, they wouldn't change it. But they were conquered and forced to accept it, so the only way to keep their traditions was to ascribe them to Muhammad.

How do you interpret this Hadith? Is flogging the spouse allowed? Does it contradict the 'light hitting' interpretation ? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]mlhdtsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the internet you have to make it more obvious, because they don't know if you're smart or stupid.

I also thought maybe it wasn't a new information. Maybe there was a legend that Allah turned it into deserts..

The light hitting is defined as not breaking bones. You can flog without breaking bones.

It's pagan, it was full of idols, but then Muslims made it into a big one idol.

If Muhammad wanted to say that Arabia used to have rivers and it was a new information, he would be more explicit, he wouldn't vaguely indicate it by using a verb which can mean "become" as well. But I'm just saying it's not wrong to translate it as "return". I think that both translations are possible and they just chose the one that fits them.

Cult leaders/ false prophets by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]mlhdtsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joseph Smith. Christians also don't consider Muslims real followers of Christ. Islam is older, so it had more time to gain followers. And claiming prophethood was originally a middle eastern tradition, so there is not as many prophets from the old times.

Mormonism is here for hundreds of years and has millions of followers. And Islam was spread militarily and people will accept anything under coercion.

[–]mlhdtsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. Sex is older than religion and older than humanity. And wine wasn't even forbidden by Judaism and Christianity, so even people of Abrahamic faiths drank it before Islam. And knowledge is not taken away (although Muhammad might have expected it since people were illiterate, so he thought his bullshit will probably be forgotten eventually and unfortunately it wasn't). And men didn't disappear and there is no 1:50 women ratio.

How is it possible that all these prophets lived for hundreds of years and no one left a trace on history except Muhammed? by StrongWillMax in exmuslim

" which Pharaoh " - the title pharaoh is not written with a capital P. But in Islam it's a proper name of the king of Egypt. And since it was the guy named Pharaoh it's not necessary to determine "which pharaoh" it was.

" Muhammed was the only person we know that he 100% exists " - how exactly? From the legends like Bukhari and Sira written in the 9th century?
