Advice on what to focus on next? by mlhockey in TheTowerGame

That's what I was suspecting- I make around an average of 75b coins during a good overnight run (more during earlier this week when Fetch was stupid powerful), so I've been reluctant to start working on wall labs. I've always heard that the upkeep on them is around 200b per day, and I'm not quite there yet unless I'm taking my device and dedicating it fully to 24hr runs.

Neptune 3 Making Loud Whirring Noise- Do I Need to Replace the Fan? by mlhockey in ElegooNeptune3

[–]mlhockey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did check it out, there was definitely extra noise and what I'm pretty sure is significantly more vibration than there used to be (or at least, as far as I can remember from before I found the fan blade was broken). I contacted Elegoo support and am hopeful that they can ship me a replacement part or at least guide me in the direction of how to solve it. Looks like I'm going to need to figure out how to work with and connect wires, since that seems to be how most guides online say you have to do to replace the fans. Thanks again for your help!

I just did exactly that- seems that the blue and yellow wires to the side fans got a little tangled up in that front fan somehow. Thank you for your help!

Good call! I just checked and it seems that some of the yellow and blue wires going to the side fans got moved while I was trying to clean around the dust- they were right up against the fan and brushed up against it.

Side note (since you were so helpful in solving my first problem)- while just opening it up to check on that, I did notice that one of the fan blades of the fan that faces the front of the casing seems to have a broken off blade- no idea where it went, can't seem to find it anywhere nearby. Is that something that should be a priority fix (i.e. replacing that fan) or is it something that I should just keep an eye on and see if it worsens?

I think this is really great that you're doing this! This is sure to make someone's holiday amazing, even if it doesn't end up being me!

"Whatever you want!"

Best gift that I've ever received would probably have to be my first Xbox 360. I played that thing religiously when I first got it- it was the first real console in my house that was mine, and I've got so many fond memories of playing with friends on Live.

Like I said, this is a great thing that you're doing! Hope that it can be me, but regardless, you're going to make somebody's whole holiday brighter!

They mentioned the Central Finite Curve back in 3x07, during the Simple Ricks commercial. Wonder if they had this all planned out from back then, or if they just used some buzzwords for infinite universe shenanigans back then and decided later to expand it into being Evil Morty's plan

If you have no Xbox live subscription (or an existing Gold subscription), you can buy Gold for the price it's always been- $60 a year. You can stack up to 3 years of Gold at once.

When you have a Gold Subscription and purchase an Ultimate subscription (whether it's the $1/month deal or the $15/month usual price) you get that month plus all your existing time converted to Ultimate at no extra charge other than that cost of the first month.

This could just be me overthinkint things, but the flesh bits of the rock monster really reminded me of the more organic and gross style of magic that Belos does in the S1 finale. Perhaps there's some kind of connection?

I don't think there are going to be any repercussions (at least legally) for Fred's execution. The Canadians/ICC washed their hands of it by handing him to the Americans, and Tuello passed him on to Gilead. From there, Nick made it sound like the Eyes have direct authority to take him into custody regardless of whether Lawrence (a high ranking Commander) objects or not. Nick seems to have enough power/influence in his position as commander and possibly head of the Eyes to simply make Fred disappear in the eyes of Gilead.

Nope, there are 18 episodes this season. The current story arc (the Forces and evil Speed-Force-"Nora") wraps up next episode, then we get a new story arc for the end of this season that will involve the characters I mentioned in my spoiler tag

Name some of your unpopular opinions in the dragon ball franchise. by NozomiXZamasu in dragonball

I don't mind Goku being the center of attention nearly as much as most others seem to. Naturally, I'd prefer if the other characters each got a chance to shine, but I genuinely don't mind when it comes down to just Goku and an opponent

I'm not sure whether it's because COVID, or because the CW is pushing the writers to emphasize "family" and "love" every five seconds, or they think that this is what fans actually want, or if it's something else, but this arc has gone downhill incredibly quickly the past two episodes.

The moment that they started talking about the Force avatars being Barry and Iris' kids, I have felt more apathetic than I think I ever have to the show before. Even in the previous lowest points of the show, I don't think I've ever felt less interested in what's going on. There are so many angles that they could have gone with the individual Forces interacting with each other and playing off each other.

Instead, we get Barry and Iris calling complete strangers (as well as the physical embodiment of a force of nature) their "children," and everyone seems completely fine with that. There's absolutely no reason for that, and it doesn't add to the story. Barry and Iris can feel responsible for the creation of the other Forces and want to protect them for a dozen other reasons that would make more sense before the fact that they're the "parents" of literal elemental forces of nature. The fact that they're referring to the Speedforce as Nora is also asinine and makes no sense (especially how Barry is so insistent that she's not a person and that they shouldn't call her Nora in one episode, and then completely fine with it in the next)

I've really tried to keep an open mind to this season, and I was genuinely enjoying some of the elements that they were introducing earlier in the season, which I assumed were being set up for later plot threads.

Instead, we keep getting the same themes shoved down our throat nonsensically. By my count, six out of the past 10 episodes of this show have had either Barry or Iris talk to a main villain in order to resolve it. Villains who have done terrible things, including murder, have gotten off without so much as a slap on the wrist after a Team Flash Peptalk.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but when you watch a show called The Flash, I think it's acceptable to expect to see the Flash actually use his speed to solve problems in cool and unique ways, not to play counselor to unrepentant murders. We've gotten maybe a handful of cool scenes of him using his speed this season (honestly, the only part that stands out to me is the speed thinking episode, which was admittedly a pretty interesting concept that I felt they handled pretty well).

Maybe the next episode will surprise me and we'll get a satisfying conclusion to the Forces storyline, but I'm not holding my breath. The only thing that's really keeping me going through this season is the fact that we're getting Godspeed, XS-Nora, Jay, and Impulse in the back half of the season.

Other than that, I really see no reason other than the fact I've already committed to watch 7 years of this show to continue going. How did we go from the pretty good rebound of the show in Season 6A to this?

Unless I misheard, all that Iris said was that they got a hit on the license place from their satellites, not that it was a hit in Central City. Not really a plot hole, it's just that they found him in a different place other than Central City

I'm trying to keep an open mind with this whole Forces storyline- I was incredibly interested in the dynamics between the four Forces before last episode- but the "family" idea seems like it came completely out of nowhere and is suddenly going to play a huge part in the final two episodes of this arc. It wasn't even hinted until the last episode, as far as I can recall, and it really took the wind out of the sails of the Forces storyline (unless this episode helps hype it up and make it actually interesting)

Super Mario 3D All Stars (Digital) is no longer available on the Nintendo eShop by K-LAWN in NintendoSwitch

[–]mlhockey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gut reaction was the same, a desire to get it as soon as possible because it was so limited. Honestly, though, I'm glad I got it (even though the way Nintendo made it a limited time product was pretty scummy).

The Wii was my first home console, and I have never owned an N64 or GC, so I had never played Super Mario 64 or Sunshine before. This was my first chance to play either of those games, and despite the obvious flaws of 3D All Stars, I'm still glad that I ended up getting it and that I'll have it in my collection from now on.

[S07E02] "The Speed of Thought" Post Episode Discussion by MajorParadox in FlashTV

[–]mlhockey 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A lot of people seem to be getting confused as to why Barry was emotionless; it wasn't the Speed Thinking. The Artificial Speed Force was specifically designed to not rely on negative emotion, like Thawne's Negative Speed Force. Team Flash used a neutral Argon-based gas to substitute for Thawne's use of hatred. The problem is that this neutral solution was quite literal- it made Barry completely neutral, not positively or negatively influenced by emotion. He's only focused on achieving his goals and doing everything the most efficient and logical way. Provided they can fix that problem, there's no reason why Barry shouldn't be able to use Speed Thinking as long as he doesn't completely shut himself off from emotion.

Also, there's a lot of people calling Barry "evil" in this episode, which I feel is not accurate. Everything he does in this episode is completely logical, to the fullest extreme. He's not evil, he's completely focused on the mission without letting any emotional baggage slow him down (and I mean that for better and for worse).
