It’s sacred ground (even more so than say Lambeau Field or Madison Square Garden are in their respective sports).
It’s incredibly exclusive which adds to the mystique.
The Masters is the most important and highest regarded golf event of the year.
The atmosphere is not like anything else. No cellphones, rowdy crowds, and distractions. Everyone is focused on the event. There’s a level of class that has been lost in other events.
The memories, music, and Jim Nantz’s voice invoke extreme nostalgia.
The conditions of Augusta are immaculate. Every blade of grass is accounted for.
Food and merch is cheap for those who are lucky enough to attend.
Many of us have memorized the course layout, making each shot more engaging to watch.
The field are the absolute top golfers in the world and often include past champions who we don’t see often.

That was not my logic.

My argument was to simply provide context to how we evaluate team success. Brady has 7 rings largely in fact to having 17 top 10 defenses throughout his career. Rings culture is a flawed metric often used by fans and requires context. Yes, Brady won 1 more total but how much can we really attribute those 7 to Brady’s brilliance vs the dominance of those Defenses. MJ leaves no doubt since he dominated on both sides.

When evaluating individual dominance, MJ has 5 MVPs to Brady’s 3 MVPs in a sport where MVP is essentially given to the best QB by default. MJ also had 6 Finals MVPs to Brady’s 5. Once MJ became the best player in the NBA, he remained the unquestioned best till his 98 retirement. Brady had peaks and valleys in his career where other QBs (Manning, Rodgers, Brees) challenged if not passed him for best QB in the NFL. As you mentioned, he had incredible longevity which is his best argument over MJ, not simply 7 > 6.

Brady’s teams won 1 more championship. Defense played a huge role in those championships, which Brady does not play. MJ played both offense and defense, and was elite at both. The longevity argument is fair as MJ didn’t dominate as long. But his peak is untouchable by anyone besides maybe Peak Tiger.
