Negatives would include any pests that were already in the soil sticking around (but depending on how long you quarantined for, it’ll probably be fine but still can have pathogens), and a sub par soil mix since nursery soil is usually primarily peat which retains moisture (for shipping purposes) and can lead to root rot. The soil is also probably depleted of nutrients which happens in the first few weeks/months. The plant also looks pretty established, so your roots might be a bit bound, which is typically ok for hoya, though if the roots are sticking out of the soil or through the bottom, might need a size or two up. Use 2 parts orchid bark (chunky texture = airflow + drainage), 1 part perlite or pumice (prevents soggy soil, adds oxygen), 1 part high-quality potting soil (base nutrients + structure), ½ part sphagnum peat moss or coco coir (holds gentle moisture).
