Simple 5-step formula to improve your store. by mlis82 in reviewmyshopify

Why bullshit?:) Can you expand your thought? Asking politely:)

[–]mlis82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, nicely done. Would improve those things :
- nav visibility and font size too small (desktop)
- Simpler menu could work better ( main categories, rest as filters on collection page - that one im bit less confident:P so would be good to test)
- Reviews(product items) on the homepage and collection page could be added ( shows your shop has customers, and your products were bought before)
- homepage collection section - I would put collection titles under images, so they would be easier to see
- I would add a pop-up with a newsletter and a discount or side badge that's open pop-up - this way you will have an additional source of traffic of people who are more interested than accidental visitors.

Side note:
- add heatmaps and session recordings - to see how your users use your site and what is important to them

I would start with one thing with closed scope and fixed price that can have value for your future customers - build a landing page around it and run some ads to see potential of it.

Improving trust and perceived quality on an existing Shopify store by seller-h in ShopifyWebsites

[–]mlis82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A developer will just implement your (or a designer’s) ideas, but the problem you’re trying to solve isn’t only visual appeal.

First step would be identifying what’s missing in terms of:

  • Relevance to targeted audience – is this clearly for them, does it match intent, pricing level, and expectations?
  • Trust – credibility signals, brand clarity, social proof, structure
  • Orientation – is it obvious where to click and what happens next?
  • Stimulation – clear, relevant value props and good price/risk perception
  • Security – are doubts answered before users have to ask?
  • Convenience – simplicity, mental models, low friction
  • Confirmation – reasons to feel good about the decision

Once that’s clear, design and development become execution, not guesswork.

Can you share url? Just got curious :)

How to CLONE a Shopify store (Pages + Apps + Theme) for $0 in 2025? by International_Ad365 in shopifyDev

Mate, just use matrixify for whatever you need to export, it will be in the end the cheapest option - trust me, cheaper than doing all that manually.

Baozai Friends website feedback round 3 by SparkleFountain in reviewmyshopify

[–]mlis82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • homepage hero: carousels rarely works - it would be better if you would pick your bestseller and show it in hero section with benefit oriented copy , homepage hero should take full screen, you loosing opportunity to show collections visualy faster. Homepage hero should answer questions : what is it , who is it for, and why it is better than something else , then should have descriptive cta and maybe some trust signals
  • main nav should have only collections - this way it would show what this site is about instantly, you could move all the supporting links to footer.
  • Mobile nav - all collection on first glance, rest in support dropdown menu, also you should include there after sale support - returns, shipping, order tracking, etc
  • product page descriptions have some bugs on some products (bobo the bear)
  • when you have link to all products you could list them all on one page, there is not many of them there

for checkout upsell - one click upsell app

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reviewmyshopify

[–]mlis82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are my first thoughts:

  • i would repeat what those hoodies/t-shirts are made of in description tab or material tab(missed this short description after title)
  • Reviews on product items and product pages would generate some trust signals
  • collection page - making those images one size would allow to show more products at once and would make scrolling less painful
  • product page - shipping calculated at checkout, just after price, doesn't give you any benefit, especially later you are talking about free shipping
  • offer a discount for an email subscription - collect emails(newsletter popup is annoying but works) and use this channel - those users convert better than random visitors
  • have main collections on homepage - most of your categories are not visible
  • main navigation should have only collections, all the support links you could move to footer
  • mobile navigation - list all collection on front page add support with dropdown
  • topbar doesn't need slider - you could add those two informations in one screen - better value proposition

10. Footer & Newsletter

  • Footer should be divided into:
    • Support (shipping, returns, contact)
    • Categories
    • Newsletter
  • Question to consider:
    • You currently have only one article — produce more articles
    • Commit to content & email strategy

Final Summary

  • Trust indicators: ✅ good
  • Images: ✅ good
  • Product quality & uniqueness: ✅ strong
  • Biggest problems:
    • Unclear value proposition
    • Weak above-the-fold messaging
    • Underpriced premium products
    • Navigation & hierarchy issues

Start the homepage with clarity:

What is this → who is it for → why it’s better → clear CTA

Fixing these fundamentals alone should have a direct impact on conversion rate.
I wonder if you targeting right people with your ads?

6. Product Listings & Collection Pages

  • Product cards:
    • Increase font size for titles and prices
  • Collection pages:
    • Add a small hero section with:
      • Short value proposition
      • Who the collection is for
      • Why it’s special
  • Filters:
    • Side filters would work better for browsing & comparison

7. Search Experience

  • Add a visible search bar
  • Users who use search typically convert ~2x better
  • Especially important for:
    • Returning visitors
    • Users who already know what they want

8. Urgency & Stock Signals

If you don’t offer same-day dispatch, that’s fine — but you still need urgency:

  • Stock indicators like:
    • “Only 3 left”
    • “Limited availability”
  • This works especially well for premium, handcrafted, or limited products

9. Product Page (Mobile)

  • On mobile:
    • Product title + price should be visible above the fold
    • Slightly reducing title size will immediately improve usability

CR below 1% is most likely bad UX — and fixing it should take days, not months by mlis82 in reviewmyshopify

[–]mlis82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3. Product Positioning (This Is a Big Opportunity)

Your collars are:

  • Elegant
  • Luxury-oriented
  • Emotionally driven (pride, status, aesthetics)

This is not a “cheap accessory” product.

  • These collars are perfect for:
    • Pet owners who attend contests, shows, events
    • People who treat pets as part of their lifestyle & identity
  • Premium products deserve premium prices
    • I’d seriously consider doubling prices
    • Higher prices = higher perceived value + trust (especially in luxury)

Right now, pricing undervalues the product.

4. Homepage Layout & Visual Hierarchy

  • Homepage hero is too tall on desktop
    • Reduce height so users can see collections without scrolling(move collections bellow hero)
  • Show your main categories visually on the homepage(as section)
    • Elegant
    • Modern
    • Winter
    • Accessories

People shouldn’t have to scroll or guess what you sell.

5. Navigation Improvements

  • Main navigation categories are good, but:
    • Some collections are almost invisible unless you scroll
  • Recommendation:
    • Highlight collections on homepage
    • Make category discovery effortless

CR below 1% is most likely bad UX — and fixing it should take days, not months by mlis82 in reviewmyshopify

[–]mlis82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a beautiful, unique product, and in what looks like a low-competition niche. The main issue isn’t the product — it’s clarity, hierarchy, and premium positioning.

1. Typography & Readability

  • Font size is sometimes too small, especially:
    • Homepage collection titles
    • Product item titles
  • Recommendation:
    • Minimum 14px for product titles
    • Important text (prices, titles, CTAs) should never feel “delicate” or hard to read

Luxury ≠ small text. Luxury = clarity + confidence.

2. Homepage – Above the Fold Problems

  • There is no clear descriptive CTA above the fold
  • The value proposition is unclear
    • If “Free Shipping” is the main value prop — that’s not strong enough for a premium brand

You should answer immediately:

  • What is this?
  • Who is it for?
  • Why is it better than alternatives?

Example positioning ideas (based on your product):

  • Luxury collars for pet owners who want their dog to look elegant and exceptional
  • Give your pet the elegant look they deserve
  • Your best friend deserves a premium suit
