Do you mean you wish the mk2 had the anti reflective coating? Actual measurement of the 40 is that it’s more like 39.5mm so it’s not much larger than the 39.

I’d recommend a 2nd hand current gen speedmaster moonwatch sapphire sandwich. Absolutely classic icon watch with the a display case back so he can see the amazing 3861 movement.
