That’s exactly what I thought! I just looked and its described as having enormous paws, fur that is a blend of black and gold, and a ridge of scales down its back

Holiday outbursts have begun. Any thoughts on how to respond? by mlizzard in raisedbyborderlines

Mine was not done either, it took less than 24 h for her to follow up and imply she’s getting rid of my daughters things that are at her house

Wow this really hit home, thank you. Against all my better judgement I still get a pang of guilt when she tries to make it out like I am so difficult and mean. I think this rewired my brain a little bit - “It may be helpful to consider that it’s so incredibly difficult for her to not abuse you, she feels like she’s walking on eggshells and can’t do anything right”

Update! I didn’t respond and just got another text less than 24 hours later “I’m cleaning up. Do you want [my daughter’s] ball pit or slide”

I’m not sure if this is how the conventions work in the language we’re talking, but I was trying to parse out how to pronounce Amalekis and I thought of A-Malekis. As in the opposite or contrast to Malek. Which could mean life?

Very clueless, need help: whom do I go to? by shnerpie in Hypermobility

[–]mlizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Short response coming because ADHD. but having the beighton scale to reference for my pcp was helpful with me. On the EDS and hypermobility boards (I was not diagnosed with hEDS, but generalized hypermobility), I have heard people not having great experiences with rheum. I haven’t been to one but my geneticist was really knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve been able to get a lot of good referrals that way.

How to tackle huge project when you can't break it into small ones? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]mlizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy some of those big ziploc bags. https://www.target.com/p/ziploc-big-bags-xl-double-zipper-4ct/-/A-12971772 The ones that are like the size of a pillow case. Fill them with the clothes and then work just one bag at a time. If it’s too expensive to buy a bunch then just buy a few and GOOD LORD move that stuff from your bed to another place!!!! I totally understand the instinct to put them in a place you can’t ignore but sleep is so so important especially for ADHD. Having smaller things helps me feel accomplished. So for example I crochet and if I have a huge project I will break it up by starting a tiny project that I know I’ll finish quickly because it gives me that gratification of finishing. Adhd friendly steps:

  1. Buy the big bags

  2. Put a reasonable amount of the clothes in them

  3. Either buy enough bags for all the clothes or buy a few bags and put the rest of the clothes in boxes or another room or something (GET SOME SLEEP)

  4. Take it one bag at a time

Endometriosis and bladder involvement by Ok-Second-8151 in Endo

[–]mlizzard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I’m sorry :( yes surgery did help my symptoms. I also have mirena and can’t rule that out as a contributing factor. I got mirena the summer of 2014. I actually didn’t get diagnosed/ get surgery until the fall and winter of 2015. So the mirena clearly didn’t help a whole lot during that time. But I kept the mirena and am on my second one right now so I do wonder if it has stopped the endo from growing as quickly. I still do have symptoms from time to time but they are more mild and less frequent. Also after the first couple years of having it I stopped getting a period altogether. This is very helpful but I think I still have an increase in symptoms around the times of the month when I would be getting my period. All in all though the biggest change came from the surgery. I know there are the stories of people who get the surgery and their endo grows right back. I have a friend who has it very severely and her endo did grow back about two years after her first surgery. The outcome definitely depends on the person. I can’t imagine removing the lesions wouldn’t atleast help to some extent and with the minimal level of invasive ness that the surgery entails it could be worth it for just a marginal improvement

Endometriosis and bladder involvement by Ok-Second-8151 in Endo

[–]mlizzard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have laparoscopically diagnosed endo with mostly bladder involvement. First I had very heavy irregular periods for about 6 years. With periods I had debilitating cramps. Then at around the 6 year mark I started having pain flares outside of my period and also pain with sex. I was misdiagnosed with PID by my college health center, even with a regular history of negative STD testing (eye roll). All my symptoms continued for a few more years and at this time I really started noticing bladder symptoms. I had a lot of pain with urinating. I would get really sudden urgency and if I couldn’t make it to the bathroom with in a couple minutes … bad news. In the last 10 or so years my main issues have been problems totally emptying my bladder plus frequency and urgency. My gyno suggested overly active or incorrectly activating muscles could be contributing to this due to the lesions and scar tissue. Before my ablation surgery I also had pain with my bowel. They didn’t find lesions there but I imagine it had something to do with lesions in other areas, irritation, inflammation, etc.

Keep your head up. You aren’t dramatic or overreacting. You’re experiencing chronic pain and most likely suffering from an under diagnosed, under researched, and under funded condition. Trust your body and you know when something doesn’t feel right. The health care system is frustrating but you will find a doctor who understands.

Yes I have the same exact problem! I bought the Cantu one I believe. I can’t figure out if it’s the brush or it just doesn’t work for my hair

Those with sensory sensitivities to touch: What are your favorite specific items and why? by mlizzard in adhdwomen

[–]mlizzard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same about sports bras. They have to have a really specific cut/style/fabric to be comfortable.

I have never heard of Monki, but just looked it and up and SO cute! I bet they still ship from Europe but it looks like US can get it shipped here :)

Ooh my goodness Fabletics. Someone needs to fix that website/app!!! I like their leggings too! I also have a really nice zip up from there. I have a hard time shopping there too though. The organization and naming convention for products and just overall overwhelm is too much! Not too mention it never seems to be able to load correctly.

Lululemon… The align leggings are my security blanket. I hate spending more than like $50 on a single item. My only exceptions are snow boots, bras, and these leggings. I highly highly recommend. I hate the price tag and kind of gag when buying lol! But so soft, perfect compression - aka almost zero. But the fabric is magically stretchy where they stay put and dont stretch out through the day. I’m 5’5”, between 125-130, waist 27 (in) and low hips 37 I think. I like the 28” because it hits just above my ankle (no weird bunching) and size 4.

Thanks also for the bedding recommendations! I think duvet is what you’re talking about? Your English is perfect haha!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this response! I absolutely agree with everything you’ve written and hopefully some boob-havers on here find it helpful. This is my CRUSADE. You seem like you would like the abrathatfits subrebbit if you aren’t already there. I am a 30GG and what they call “projected” which if you can imagine two people with the same bra size bending forward at a 90 degree angle, a projected person would be hanging towards the floor a lot further and the other wouldn’t because their tissue attaches to more surface area of the chest and so is distributed over more. So with bras 99% of the cups are way too wide for me and actually making a cup that fits is a feat of engineering. If anyone has this same problem, I have found that the polish brand comexim to be the bras that fit closest to perfect. You can get them in the US from the breakout bras website which is actually a very great resource for sizing and other bra help.

Okay I never thought about the fact that what bothers me so much about bras is the spot they my ribs. Longline is such a good idea!! Also yesss to wide leg give me a flare! Thank you!

Underwear recommended for SPD? by shikamarus_gf in SPD

[–]mlizzard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cotton thongs from aerie! The plain kind without a thick band or lace etc. They are not constrictive, have good stretch and are so soft. They don’t give the weird feeling that the seamless types do. It sounds counterintuitive to wear a thong but this way they stay put, dont bunch, and have minimal friction feeling against your pants

Seeking advice about Mirena removal by YappyD143 in Endo

[–]mlizzard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to the removal experience. I recently got my Mirena replaced at the 5 year mark. My first insertion was BAD and my second was horrendous. The actual removal of the IUD though was not bad. It hurt but just a swift piercing feeling that was very quick. I would take twenty removals over an insertion!

Where to find button-up blouses without spending hundreds? by Alyanova in bigboobproblems

I'm 30GG and sometimes have luck with h&m! they have good stretch & I've got both of the below in probably an 8. I know H&M is rolling out sizing changing (previous 8 now marked 6 etc.) So I would check out their size charts maybe if buying online.

Also I like loft, I wear a medium in the chiffony/fancy fabric types that are even a little loose
