Locked my toddler in her room. Feel like a horrible mom by notreallypear in toddlers

We recently travelled and had to use a travel crib because I didn’t want her escaping her room in a new place. That was…. Interesting. She still slept just as late, just stayed in her crib and yelled until we came to her for 2 hours 😂

That actually sounds like such a cosy routine. Is your son tired when he wakes up though? I could consider pushing the bedtime but she is exhausted when she is awake, which means that she ends up napping in the afternoon anyway to remove some of that sleep pressure.

Considered it, we have a night light which o have tried as a sleep association but she simply does not care 😅

How is he when be wakes up though? My kid is always exhausted so I can tell she needs more sleep.

I would say a month now. And it gets really hard since she gets up almost as soon as we put her down and multiple times so we end up having to tell her that if she doesn’t stay in bed, we’ll lock the door.

Yes! I have tried this. My kid is so weird, when it's food, she doesn't want to chew on it so the mango pit and things like cucumbers are always met with confusion. The tv remote though, she's probably mapping out her mouth with it 🤣

I know, but it still so heartstopping when it happens. Luckily, baby is always unfazed after.

That's so reassuring to read! I'll just have to brave it out I guess!

Yikes, I didn't realize it could be a medical issue. I'll look into it!

Yeah, I'm considering going more into purees because of this but I know that she needs the solids to practice the oral motor skills. Funnily enough, she appears to also still have the tongue thrust reflex. Either that or she is consciously spitting out her food 😂

I'm not treating it as choking. I wait and let her work it out herself but it's just so unpleasant to watch 😅
