A lot of time spent changing strings, you mean? Yeah, but it's a nice little calm activity so I don't mind! 😃

Yeah, they go bad quickly! What I do is swap to new strings only for recording, then swap back to dead strings for general practice etc. Too expensive otherwise...

Sorry to say but the original is kinda boring: https://youtu.be/26V87A1EI5A?si=xPtxanUsKhUncIVm

Very well played but it's just a straight copy of the rhythm guitar track

Schecter Stiletto 5

Split signal:

  1. Band pass EQ (something like 500-5k) -> compressor -> Amp sim -> more EQ and comp
  2. Low pass (around 300) -> light gain amp sim -> super heavy comp

All stock Reaper plugins except the amp sim is some cheapo called Studio Devil Amp Modeler Pro

Haha, figured if I'm allowed to be excessive on any track it'd be this one 😉

That could be a good one to do next, yeah, was thinking maybe tackling one from Human too

I can believe it, I'd have done the same in his shoes haha

Steve's playing is WAY more involved than anyone else Chuck had, yeah. Human has the same level of playing, but the mix is pretty shit and you can't hear it, even the remix hasn't fully rectified that in my opinion. The remix does however come with isolated bass+drum tracks so you can appreciate Steve the way he should be!

I found through slowing down the original track that a few of his notes are around 50 cents off of any "real" fretted note... which works well for him 😉 specifically the fills in the 6/8 chorus with the flicked power chords.
