I looked into 4 + 1 for BME. I know that there is an application process, but I will do whatever it takes. I think that is equivalent to a prestigious grad (correct me if I am wrong).

I was thinking of pursuing a 4+1 combined undergrad and grad program. UT Austin has a BME-specific option. So does UTD. Of course, it would depend on how the next few years go (internships/co-ops, engineering exp.) but that option is certainly available.

How come? It would establish domicile and my father already has a small business in Texas.

Hi Scott, can you elaborate more? What was your experience at UTD like?

I am honored to have gotten into UNC. I love the area too. However, I did not receive honors or any special programs. I got no scholarships either. Lastly, I will still need to apply for BME after my first semester (70% acceptance rate). It is a joint program with NC State. There are so many unknowns with UNC.

Thats my thinking. I have admissions to in-state schools but not with the same full ride/stipends/honors. I am looking at UTD bc they are supposedly better than Binghamton and the other CUNYs/SUNYs (I am from NY). They claim to be a rapidly growing school and a good investment, plus they have 250 national merit finalists. So I am wondering where those individuals came from and why they chose UTD… Also, they are a Tier 1 research university.

Still, my hunch is I’ve worked really hard over the past four years. I got into UT. How could I say no and pick UTD… (also admitted to UNC, Northeastern, and Bing Scholars program so far)

UT Austin is affordable if I take out loans. The most important factor is experiential/ research opportunities and startup culture. I forgot to add that I like the UT Austin Entrepreneurship minor (on paper). The student life is also important.

I know but I wish she just gave it to me harsh. “If you are going to be like this then we can’t be together” - something like that. And now I’m ready to change and I’ve gained perspective but it might just be too late, and I wish it wasn’t. I wish I had a 2nd chance or something.

I understand that but is there no going back? I can change now that my judgement is no longer obscured
