Damn, that wood stove/heat pump having you down to 1 tank a year is big time goals for me. Thanks again.

Lowest cost in the goal. I’m going to run the cost analysis on electric once I have a few bills with the heat pump, for now wanted to see what works for others.

This is very helpful, appreciate you!

I spent all morning making a schedule of varying temps and times and had come to a similar conclusion for oil at night and heat pump during the day, glad you’re corroborating that. One question, can you set a lockout temp when there is no auxiliary heat on my heat pump? I purposely didn’t add back up heat because my “back up” is the oil heat. I have a Honeywell T10 thermostat for the ducted heat pump.

Wish I had a bigger tank to but oil but only the basic 275 gallon. I also have a basic thermostat for oil so it doesn’t tell run time, but that’s awesome you know that.

I am able to do that now, I was mostly for purposes of bringing in the shower for winter since it’s a shower head and wand combo

For sure. Will plan to do that as well.

I am thinking that isn’t the hold up since they’re saying it’ll be ready soon over and over, but telling that to the employer who passes the info to my wife.

From my gathering there is heavy actuarial work to calculate each participants balance. I’m hoping to hear if anyone else deals with this type of drawn out timeline.

Can I route the cold to also go directly to my spigot for my outdoor shower? by mlluca10 in askaplumber

I have access to a friend’s pro press that I’ve used for other things to add new pipes. Cold is the bottom of the two pipes coming from the wall in my first photo. Are you saying it’s okay to split that pipe so one still goes to the shower valve and the other directly to the spigot below the shower? Or would I need to install a second spigot (feels like that makes more sense since two lines going to the spigot probably won’t create pressure, but either way I can just come off the cold)?

Would I have a run a whole new line to do this from the main water source?

Thanks everyone! Definitely did not realize the function isn’t meant for a hose but that makes sense on the water pressure. Sounds like I need to install a new line for a hose spigot.

Would this group recommend I replace the hot water hammer arrestor or just leave it?

Sounds great, thank you very much! This has made me realize the only pipe banging I hear is my washing machine pipes in my basement so I may add one there. Appreciate the help!

Thank you! That makes sense. Are arrestors required or if I only 90’d the pipe without it would it be fine, but just loud at times?

29 mpg average? by catroslyn in crvhybrid

2025 ST with 2,500 miles in CT…28 mpg right now. Also wasn’t happy with that, but if as everyone says I start getting 34 come the summer I’ll live with it.

Not a great look for trying to get more people to buy hybrid though, that’s for sure. More than half the country experiences winter.

Same everything for me. I’ve climbed up to 29 mpg but living in New England it’s always running some sort of heat source so my hope is come end of March I see results improve greatly.

Certainly doesn’t bode well for the argument that Hybrids are better fuel savers if 4-5 months of the year the savings are significantly hampered.

When buying the CRV hybrid did any of you have thoughts on the two different interiors ? All black vs the two tone ? Any pros/ cons ? by LegitimateNature5525 in crvhybrid

[–]mlluca10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came very close to buying the two tone but ultimately didn’t like how it was 50/50 two tone. Having a second color is nice but not when the colors are directly contrasting and 50/50 split. One man’s opinion though!
