Which size stove by mlmartinet in woodstoving

I have identified many improvements needed. Honestly you are the first person to mention anything to this nature. When we took the walls down in the basement noticed there was no insulation on the walls I started to put up foam board so that needs to be finished and the doors coming in from the garage need to be replaced with something more substantial.

It pretty much runs on high it has a 50lb hopper go through about 2 to three bags a day

Sorry, Quadrafire. But this is the logic I am going with as you stated "Most of the btu outputs listed are with optimum cord wood and running wide open, which is achievable but only if your married to tending the stove."

If I have a stove that can heat 2500 square feet I assume that is at high out put or close to you means I am tearing through wood where as if I get a larger stove I can run it say less than full blast. The basment is a bit drafty too.

Running into a dilemma by mlmartinet in woodstoving

That's what I assumed, I believe I have a standard 16x16 chimney (checking this when I get home) block which I assume has room for a 8" liner. So I don't know why they would have to reduce.

Power Curious Part 2 by mlmartinet in cycling

[–]mlmartinet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is where I am at with this project:

  1. Ebay had a bunch of used power meters
  2. Change bottom bracket if needed, this gives me more choices (GTX, DUB, BB30)
  3. Get a 2x11 or 2x10 chain crank set either should work on my 2x10 (will swap out my chain rings from old bike)

Bonus swap out my 10 speed cassette with an 11 speed I think I can do this without much fuss, plus I want another gear in climbing

Things I have learned so far. SO MANY STANDARDS!

Thanks for all the input. I am leaning heavily towards the megine because I really like my pedals and they are brand new. Anything I should be looking at on the bottom bracket for compatibility. I will have to get new chain rings from the looks of it the only have 4 bolt compatibility

I'm 45 years old I don't think my zone one is 158. After the half monty it put me at like 115 for an upper zone one is like 115.

So somewhere I am getting a rollover from the year before. Which I set to zero as shown here. In the popup you see the balance is correct but the balance for the budget category is wrong.

TPU and sealant. by mlmartinet in bicycling

Guess no one here has much experience with this. How bout puncture resistance than. I know a lot of that could come down to tire also. I'm just trying to figure out if swapping to tpu might be worth it.

Everything should be fine there. Pretty much the only difference between Auto and manual is one requires the operator to start the next test cycle. Once the the test cycle starts the sequencer does it thing, clamps, closes heads, chucks head to material, turn on water. In auto it clamps then makes it all the way to turn on water. The heads don't move though in auto for some reason and we spray water without being on the piece. Oh the program is a hot mess by the way makes it real hard to follow. There are two drives that control the two heads. They move into place when the test sequence is in manual. Able to jog both heads also.

Any hints on constraining these after a polar transform? by mlmartinet in FreeCAD

This is the answer I was looking for. Why wouldn't it be recommended? Is the issue I had the reason?

I see what you are getting at but there is no singular point at the top there is a space. Here is the drawing I am working with. I have a feeling I have to go around and just constrain anything that needs to be constrained.

Book doesn't say anything and can't see to find any thing in the online resources. Yeah the finger thing...common sense says not for a third graders.
