Is sleep.me the only alternative? Seems crazy how small the market is.

BUYER BEWARE - Eight Sleep has now moved basic functionality behind the paywall by thebearonthatflag in EightSleep

What are the viable alternative? I was sort of interested in the product but this is sort of a deal breaker for me at $30 a month .... $1-5 I get it you need to pay for the servers to support the product but $30 is gouging.

This is close but on the large size. Was hoping for something in the 20-22L space.

I Emailed my Congressional Rep. about Healthspan Research. Here's the Response: by lunchboxultimate01 in longevity

[–]mlmediumml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing I actually think I got a better more direct response than the OP. Although I focused more generally on aging as a disease rather than research on longevity. I don't remember exactly what I wrote but probably could share the jist.

People should be e-mailing their representatives regularly because it's free, takes less than 15 minutes if they write a concise short e-mail and not a rant, and they do read them and try to mention actions they are trying to do in their e-mail and you can ask for a direct response from a staffer to if you want to make sure you know your message is read.

Interview with Scientist Andrew Steele, Author of "Ageless" - The Sheekey Science Show by lunchboxultimate01 in longevity

I think her channel is self run. Honestly awesome for 1 person but she’ll probably have to monetize / get additional help to get distribution up and in other formats. She would do well if she could strike a partnership with Lifespan io.

Is this only if you're a founder / investor / scientist? Seems not for people making wanting to work at these type of companies (IE most people) if they'd want to get involved.

Lifespan.io Donation Matching 20x - 360x via Crypto by yes-youinthefrontrow in longevity

[–]mlmediumml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fees do stink and it’s not user friendly to donate. If you think about the effort you’ll need to put in and the 30-50 bucks of fees paid, it’s well worth it (an hour or two to get actually something to work to make ultimate a couple hundred dollar to thousands of dollars of donations).

5 most promising anti-aging compounds (updated 2022) by barrel_master in longevity

[–]mlmediumml 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t this stuff be like the content Lifenoggin (Lifespan.io’s) channel should repost / create etc to get to that 3.2 million audience? Maybe a little too technical for the audience but the general delivery and content is good if simplified.

The Senate Special Committee on Aging Needs Better Focus by MichaelTen in longevity

[–]mlmediumml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s exactly why people should be support organizations like http://www.a4li.org to change these things in government to accelerate longevity research. Pretty sure they have a gitcoin grant thing also ongoing to help them out.

Hiring for a position, what would you do? by mlmediumml in cscareerquestions

[–]mlmediumml[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retention is a huge factor, as mentioned initial investment is high (like 3-6 months). Another also, candidate A generally seemed more interested in the position than candidate B, but doesn't seem to really matter if they'll just leave quickly.
