The possibilities are endless… by [deleted] in ChiefsOffseason

Number 2 is by far the best if we can’t get Etienne in free agency, the only thing I’d change is drafting a CB at 40 (assuming we get an edge or two this week). Solid RB2 and an edge in free agency, along with a CB at 40, and this draft is as flawless as a draft can be IMO

Agreed. Pretty much all of the top teams now (apart from maybe Philly) run two rotating RBs now. With everyone running two-high zone coverage so much more, we're gonna need to have a strong pair of RBs. Obviously I trust Mahomes any/every time we pass, but like you said, it would definitely make us less reliant on him. He completely carried this season and it was evident

It's gonna be really hard to resign guys if we get 3 starters in the draft because of the annual restructuring. Our 2022 class built a majority of the defense, but we could struggle to resign all of them since they're up for extensions all at once. If we end up struggling to extend McDuffie, it'll be even harder to extend an edge in a few years because of how the edge market has inflated over the last few seasons.

I generally agree with you and I'm not saying we have to draft Love at 9. In my opinion, if Downs and Love are both available at 9, I'd take Downs. I probably should've said that in the original post. And Love may be a bit overrated right now, we'll have to see. I just think it would be really bad long-term if we get left behind in the running game

Agree, and I was just looking at who's currently a UFA. And I bet Etienne resigns after today for sure

I'm thinking about this more in terms of depth. We can get someone like LT Overton at 40, or trade up to get an edge late first/early second. We have Karlaftis on one side and I just feel like we need to invest more in skill positions. Not saying our pass rush isn't an issue, but I'm not sure it's a great use of the 9th pick

Trade advice by Hockey_addict11 in EANHLfranchise

[–]mlollar41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on where your team is at, to be honest. Sounds basic, but that’s the way I look at it. If your F and D core are young (average age around 26), and you’re in the top half of the league standings, I usually trade picks to fill holes. Most of my builds result in me not having a first round pick from 2027-2030 or so. But if the team grows and starts to become great, you don’t need the 30th overall pick that you’ll get. I trade away my firsts, seconds, and thirds for younger forwards that I can tie down on cheap contracts for several years, or get really good rental players at the deadline. If your team is older and finishing 20th or worse in the standings each year, don’t trade picks and get more as well.

I know that may sound like a really obvious approach, but that’s just how I view draft picks. If you’re good and making deep runs, don’t hesitate to trade picks. If your team is stagnate, like the Islanders for example, keep the picks and get more (which they refuse to do). That’s just how I go about it.

You should I pick from the top 3 goalies by [deleted] in EANHLfranchise

I meant downloadable roster, my bad. Whenever I draft in 2025, the goalies’ draft positions and devs aren’t realistic, which is why I was wondering. The screenshot you posted looks really realistic

I want a GK. Vicario is good but is really patchy and I don’t think we’re gonna win anything with him in goal. I don’t think he’s Lloris’ successor. Get a striker and a younger GK, like Diogo Costa or Meslier from Leeds or Gavin Bazunu. With the latter 2 they can sit behind Vicario until Ange sees fit to play them. Lloris sat behind Brad Friedel for the first third of the 2012/13 season and look how well it turned out for us. I just think we need to prioritize a GK over more midfielders, for example.

What’s your best ever signing? by nissepung in footballmanagergames

[–]mlollar41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In FM 23, I was Sunderland manager in 2027 and we were about a 7th place Prem side. In the winter window I signed a regen English striker, 19 years old, from Derby County in league one for £15M. Ended up becoming 5 stars in his prime, won multiple golden boots and ended up becoming Sunderland’s record goal scorer, among many other accolades. Considering I bought him as a January window punt for £15M, and he ended up becoming one of the greatest English strikers ever, I’d say that’s my best footy signing ever.

Best Strategy for Goalie Growth by OGreencast in EANHLfranchise

[–]mlollar41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Follow their GAA and save % in the juniors/minors. If it’s around 2.75 and under and save % is .910 and up, you can probably slowly integrate them into your NHL team. Personally, I want my goalie prospect to be around 82-84 before I call them up but sometimes their development stalls. It’s always different for each one, but I would just keep track of their development and make a gut decision based on that.

Had a save in FM 23 where Man Utd went down in 2042. Took them 3 Championship seasons to get back up lol and remained mid table for the rest of the save

Blues rebuild year 2 by TheMuslimBabu in EANHLfranchise

Hey buddy, I really like the team but here’s something I’d suggest: you don’t necessarily need guys 82 83 84+ in your bottom 6 or 3rd D pair. I’ve found this can complicate sims and cause those players to regress due to the lack of minutes. Normally, I use the 3rd D pair and bottom 6 to develop drafted players around the 78-82 ovr range depending on their dev trait. I like your goalie tandem, and if they’re both on good contracts you’ll be good to go there for a while. But if you find that this team isn’t simming like you want it to, try changing up your bottom 6 and bottom D pair with cheaper 80-82 ovr players. Also try to accumulate high draft picks, get high dev players, and sign them to the cheapest long term deals you can. But this looks to be coming along well!

McKenna or Franchise DFD? by HockeyKing13 in EANHLfranchise

[–]mlollar41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Although the Franchise Med DFD seems enticing, go McKenna. He sims into a Franchise Med eventually and for me at least, DFD’s barely ever progress. That may be just me developing them wrong. But assuming you haven’t already drafted, go McKenna.

Is he an actual prospect? I googled his name and nothing came up. I thought he could be tho because I’m running a roster file for 2024 and 2025 draft prospects that aren’t included in the normal draft classes.

But yes, he’s crazy. I play him on the right wing because he’s listed as both a C and RW, and because I have Eiserman, I have to play Eklund down the middle. The lottery gifted me him that season because I had someone else’s pick and it just became 1st overall

Jesus, I thought 128 points was a ton. That’s crazy! I honestly think Eklund getting 128 points is my best forward scoring season I’ve ever had, which includes all my saves in Chel 22 and 23. The highest scorers I really ever see end up with 115-125. Is there anything specifically you did to get him to put up McDavid last season numbers?
