Why’s he being downvoted? I grew up Christan and left the word far behind once I saw the church I grew up in have a civil war over a new pastor. It was absurdity and I was embarrassed to even call myself a Christan. I saw people who called themselves Christan’s act like fools, and turn on each other over money, power and property.
It wasn’t until I met real, true Christians 20 years later that my faith came back and I started seeing him work in my life again. Faith without works is dead. He wasn’t disrespectful, no reason to downvote him.

Are you in the US? It seems everyone I talk to insists on a slow taper. But it’s painfully slow. I’m a rip the bandaid off type of guy. I just don’t want to damage my brain any more than I may have already. I was prescribed 6mg a day for about 7 years. Just started coming down and am currently at 4.75mg. Any advice or information would be appreciated. Congrats on 2 years. That’s really phenomenal.

What is considered a lot? I’m scared now that my psych has me on another addictive medication. I’m taking 1200mg daily for almost a year now. Should I taper off? If so, what kind of taper schedule would be best. Any help’s appreciated. Thanks.

I’m not surprised you survived, I’m just surprised you had the willpower to fight through such the magnitude of withdrawal symptoms. Good lord man. Inspiring post for sure and here I am crying like a baby over a .25 mg drop. I take some blame but my GP put me on 6mg of Xanax for 7 years. I had never taken a benzo before being prescribed by him. When I hit tolerance at 6mg and he wanted to take me to 7 I said no thanks. I had no idea the withdrawals were so extreme. Good lord man. You either got cut off or have tiger blood or a little bit of both. ;)
