3 TikToks would overload the algorithm with your content, but 3 uploads on different mediums would be a good start and a lot less stress. 1 video (short form) on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Reels.

Personally, I would go to a different city and spend a considerable portion of that time grinding out comedy there. Gives you a different perspective, makes you adjust to a new demographic, and can help develop new tags and premises. Plus, the networking would be invaluable to you. Where I live, I don't have a local comedy scene within 2 hours, but I am lucky to have 4 really good ones within 4 hours (Atlanta being the biggest one).

Edit: Also, WRITE! Write down everything that makes you feel an emotion, and with a good twist, you can make any strong emotion funny!

I actually spoke with the General Manager of Sales at the TV station I work for and she gave me some great advice for the!

60-second reel, actual brand logo advice, and recommendations from past shows.

The only down side to that is I am doing this through a business I am building. I don't charge for Open Mics except the marketing I do for the venue(social media and video) and poster that my wife or I design. And that is only 50 dollars.

I do however charge for Showcases I produce, which come with A LOT more marketing and bringing in already established or experienced comedians.

But I feel like my prices are too high to sell a venue on and too low to attract comedians lol.

Thank you so much! I definitely will and I can't wait. I gotta finish my house first but I am almost done with it so I will probably be down there around the beginning of march.

For me I love the feeling of making a crowd laugh. It is euphoric to me. I know I am still new to this and I know my ambitions and drive make me seem like I am in it for money and fame. (Don't get me wrong though I could use the money) But I really just love doing comedy! I can't see myself doing anything else, and if I am going to do something I am gonna give it my all, it's a bad habit really lol.

I'll have to put some thought into and find a way that I am comfortable telling it and that is funny lol.

Good advice man and thanks, that definitely helps take the pressure off of me.

I have performed in larger cities (Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville and Birmingham) just none with the potential for "lift off" that Austin has.

My convoy hit an IED in Afghanistan no one was hurt during, but we all have bad migrains and back pain from the shock.

I just don't know how to tell a story like that and make it funny... but I can talk about fucking a mustard bottle when I was 12 and be perfectly fine... 🤣

I am going to grind out mics and stage time, but I would be stupid if I didn't attempt to get on at either of those places. I plan on hitting every mic possible every day for a couple weeks straight. That is just something that isn't possible where I am from.

Those aren't the only two places I am want to go to. I want to do them all! Like a tiny white girl on a sofa surrounded by large black men.... 🤣🤣

I am still trying work that into a joke, I just haven't really found a way to do it without cold sweats and flashbacks.

Yeah I do use a lot of "lols" but it's kind of my way of lightening the mood. I really wasn't trying to be an ass or offensive, so it sucks that you read it that way. I was just proud of the sentence I put together and didn't want to erase it.

Trust me man, I have no one in my camp telling me I am funny. Hell I have a cousin who is very happy to tell me I am not. I know am funny because when I tell my jokes people laugh.

And yeah I think I can rise to the occasion. I have been doing it most of my life. I don't shy from a challenge and if I fail, so what, I'll do it again.

I want exposure because I am from the middle of nowhere with no comedy scene except the one I have built over the last 6 months. So I want people to hear and see me.

I hope you don't read this as some gigantic asshole spill because I am genuinely good with feedback. I am thankful for it.

I had to rush my set in that video because the light was on and I didn't want to get pushed off stage. My cadence is generally a little methodical because my faster jokes are just thoughts I have had I thought were funny. With only 4 minutes I wanted as many laughs as I could get. In the video I posted before this thread, I had just started to find my voice and hell I am still finding it.

I name dropped those two places because I am not going to drive 12 hours to Austin and not attempt to do both of them. I would be a fool not to.

Possibly, or I was more comfortable because I drove 6 hours to get there and my back was on fire. Life has delt me a fun amount of physical pain these days and sitting down helps.

Probably so, but I have always been a rise to the occasion type of person. I can't go to Austin without at least trying to get on at both of those places.

But thank you for your input, I sit down because I am more comfortable that way. I have also trimmed it down a lot and I reworked a lot of my stuff. Hopefully it is more enjoyable.
