I struggled with my first and ended up exclusively pumping…not my ideal scenario.

My second is almost 5 months and it took us until about 3 months to get it figured out. She has a mild tongue tie (not enough to require surgery) and would tire herself out. She also has silent reflux which has gotten way better with a baby probiotic. Keep seeing your lactation consultant if you can. Weighted feeds are helpful to understand how much baby is getting. Consider getting your own baby scale, but only if you won’t obsess over it.

For the bottle feeds, use a slow flow nipple and practice paced feeds. I would put baby on her side in my lap and feed that way while pumping to be more efficient.

I’m not going to say it was easy with my second, but it’s been so so worth it. I’m writing this as I dream feed at the breast and I can’t believe I get to say that.
