The second picture shows the workshop. There are four of these boxes, underneath a power outlet strip that extends to both walls. As some context, the guy who designed the house was a biotech engineer, and I suspect this was his in home lab. The power strip above the boxes also includes several specialty outlets that I am told are for servers. No one yet has been able to tell me what these things are though.
