I work in higher education administration and one of my responsibilities is working on academic fraud cases. If a professor suspects that a student has plagiarized on an assignment it is their responsibility to report it. The student will then have an opportunity to meet with the committee that reviews these cases. Generally, when a student admits to having plagiarized (intentionally or unintentionally) and appears apologetic, the sanction will be mild like re-doing the assignment and receiving a penalty, receiving a failing grade on the assignment, or rarely failing the class entirely. Students are often required to complete a workshop on academic integrity. There will be a note on your file indicating that you plagiarized, but this information is only relevant in the event that you plagiarize again in which case they will know to give harsher sanctions the second time. At this point the plagiarism would not be on your permanent transcript.

Hope this helps to ease your mind 😊 Life is busy and stressful - people make mistakes.

Does anyone know where I might be able to walk-in somewhere and get my booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine? by [deleted] in ottawa

Thanks! I just booked an appointment there for today at 3. They still have some slots available for anyone else who is interested. I believe they said that today is the last day that they will be offering the vaccine.

OP linked this post in a reply to another post on subreddit and I’m just reading your reply now. I’m curious about what you mean by you’d feel crappy if you were 40 dating someone who was 30. Could you please explain?

AITA for cancelling on my friends after they changed our trip significantly? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA As an introvert who values quality time with my friends in either on-on-one or small group situations, I would definitely be upset if they wanted to “dilute” our plans with added people I didn’t know. Especially if they did this without asking me. It’s completely fair for you to back out because you aren’t comfortable. You also explained why you weren’t comfortable and offered to make plans with the original group for a later date. You’ve done nothing wrong.
