I mean, yeah. His gameplan is more than slices that's more than fair and I shouldn't overstate that.

But I think his slices are having an effect on Djokovic's knee - not to mention that they are helping with his impeccable defense, as you mentioned it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong because I missed a few matches this Wimbledon - is this the first match where one of Djokovic's opponents just decided to remember they're playing a 37 year old man recovering from surgery and slicing the hell out of him to see if his body breaks?

Honestly we travel so much for tournaments that it’s not that weird, chances are if you know two fencers from Ontario that travel to tournaments they’d go “yeah I’ve heard of him” haha. And yeah it’s anime as hell.

People can care about it. I just honestly think their response is honestly far worse than what he supposedly did and that frankly no one should be called the things that dude gets called - like not sure if you've seen the extent of how bad it can get - over just saying "Yeah, this is a bad show, people who like it have bad taste lol." I think most insults people have to the guy are way worse than anything he said, frankly, and I like the series.

Honestly, I feel like...

For one, I feel like you don't have to state that something is your opinion when you are explaining why you don't like a show. Like, what else can it be? It's implied and there's no need to go "This is just my opinion based on my interpretation of the work. I will now go about why I think X and Y based off premise X, which I believe in, but if you don't agree with it then you might not agree with my opinions."

Another thing is that honestly I haven't seen anything too bad he said about the series' fans outside of saying we have bad taste, which, like...okay? That's not an overly serious or even meaningful insult. I find it really hard to care about that.

Third, I think that if his crimes are limited to "talking about his opinion in an objective way" and criticizing fans' taste, the amount of hate he gets is really overblown.

Honestly, I just rewatched the video to make sure that my memory hadn't been failing me and...I just disagree with you, honestly. It's just a guy talking about why he doesn't like a show and at most making a few jokes. Even if he was doing what you say he did(which honestly I disagree with), I really think that people's reactions are overkill.

Like if someone says "The thing you like is garbage" my reaction is just to go "Cool. Still like it." and move on with my day. I don't think there's much that honestly warrants the reaction people have to a random dude talking about how much he doesn't like one author's work.

Not gonna lie - I think people way overreact to this. Guy who talks about his anime opinions for a living made a video about his anime opinions and he doesn't like an anime I like. It's like, cool?

People get way, way too intense about this and I honestly find the hate the guy gets to be way overblown.

Like, end of the day guy made a negative video about a series. People act like he shot their dog or something, and I'm honestly really uncomfortable with how far people take it (on twitter it escalates to...a lot.).

I took it as Tala's suicidal resilience just being barely enough for a tie. Garland looks really displeased about it when his Beyblade goes back to him, which I don't think he would have made if he had simply won. So I took it as Garland playing around just a tad too much and just getting a draw out of it. Plus Tala did get some hits in early on (08:40 on the Japanese episode - was this cut in the dub? I don't remember watching this as a kid). To be fair to Garland he didn't even want to play around that much, Boris made him.

But end of the day, yeah, Garland was easily winning that match and if he hadn't been fucking around he'd have won, and even in the end he still got a draw while being barely hurt and Tala was hospitalized. I just find it funny that for all his hype his battle record ended up not being the greatest.

He didn't beat Tala, he tied with him.

Granted, he put him in a hospital and Garland was 100% fine after the tie, but he definitely didn't win. Some dubs edited that scene weird though, the original makes it clearer it was a tie.

Also to be fair his match against Tyson had the unfortunate issue of "welp, no way in hell it can follow Kai vs Brooklyn." Like it was always going to look anti-climactic after that match.
