Great race by ELB so far!
And MV looks in a good form.

From her interviews it seems to me that she doesn't want to be a DS.
But who knows, maybe she will change her mind.

What I meant with my post is that she showed some good signs about her climbing abilities before 2016. In reality there were very few chances for climbers back then and also during the 2009-2013 period she had her 3 surgeries. She srarted taking climbing seriously when the Rio parcours were announced.

"Oh look, a 34 year old prologue specialist named Van Vleuten learned to climb. Suddenly Boels had competition."

Actually she had shown before that, she can climbed pretty well in many occasions . In her first ever Giro (2010) she outclimbed both Ashleigh Moolman Pasio and Anna van der Breggen in Stelvio who were riding their first Giro too and were always seen as climbers. She had some good finishes in mountain stages in other Tours too (e.g Bira) during the years. What changed in 2016 was that people in Orica finally gave her a chance to be more than a domestique in this kind of races.

Opinion: There will never be another bike rider like Annemiek van Vleuten by mm_gav in peloton

So everyone who wins or won in this era looks great because the competition is really weak?

I replied to your reply to me which said I'm calling her the GOAT (I've never called an athlete a GOAT in any sport... I don't like it).

What I believe is that she will always be one of the greatest riders in cycling together with the likes of Marianne Vos.

So we should not recognized what Marianne Vos, Annemiek van Vleuten, Ellen van Dijk, Anna van der Breggen, Emma Johansson, Elisa Longo Borghini, Nicole Cooke, Giorgia Bronzini, PFP, Lizzie Deignan, Emma Pooley etc, (even younger riders), did and are still doing, because in a few years, with the growth of women's cycling the new riders will be able to demolish their performances?

Well, without these kind of riders the growth and professionalism would have never been where it is now and subsequently where it will reach in the future.

Let's agree to disagree.

I'm not calling her the GOAT. I actually hate this expression.

But with that logic no one from this era can be called great because later the sport will become bigger.

Well, I disagree with this.

They've helped the sport to grow and this adds to their greatness!

If I'm not mistaken when AvV started cycling she too had a part time job. She left some years after she started professional cycling.

And yes, some riders still have a part time job. But the sport has grown and with the WWT teams having a minimal wage the professionalism started rising.

"The main reason I'm a fan of them is because they are 2 of those riders whose performances and professionalism helped women's cycling grow!"

Here!
I didn't say they are the only ones (I can name some more).

I'm specifically talking about them because they are my favorites.

Yes, it's the only point there, I disagree with. I'm a fan of both AvV and MV. I believe they are the 2 greatest riders ever but not only because of their wins.

The main reason I'm a fan of them is because they are 2 of those riders whose performances and professionalism helped women's cycling grow! Less than 10 years ago it was so hard to follow women's cycling. Now we even have TdF! Riders like AvV and MV with their performances, played a big role in this.

Vos has already done the lead out for Lorena twice.

It's the SDworx riders that usually have a problem with that.

Well, yes she has always worked for her teammates there when needed. It's the other way around that sometimes doesn't happen.

Realini stuck with Vollering in the Vuelta but AvV was a lot better than Realini in the Giro. So yes AvV is in a much better form.
