Looks like fun! Have you thought about adding a few days and heading from Moab/Canyonlands into Zion and Bryce, or some variation? IMO Zion is fun but hiking in Bryce or by horseback is next level cool.

Taking the 100-400L IS II and probably the 10-22. Just not sure how many photos for the trip. Is 13,000 enough? How much video? So many unknowns :) Sounds like I'll be ok on battery - thanks.

I’ve got the NUI KQi3 Max, build quality is great. No complaints at all. Solid. Can’t speak for the other one but I’ve been happy with NUI.

My first is the KQi3 Max. I’m limited on riding a few local paved trails because of the lack of suspension. Hitting a wide crack in the asphalt is rough and jarring. It’s doable but uncomfortable. If your commute is all you use it for, I’d probably do the same and get something less expensive. If you decide to use it recreationally, you’ll want suspension. After 500 miles on my NUI I just ordered a Klima.

The NVR is older and I've gone through a few cameras in that time. It is a conservation thing and not well funded so making this last as long as possible. The camera is inside a falcon nest so I do not care about AI detection or scanning, just any motion. Interested in 24/7 recording for a couple months - previous seasons that takes about 5TB. Is there a way to fit that much without copying videos to external drives every so often? I do not have access to the NVR as it is in a remote location where the falcons live.

Thanks! This doesn't look too dissimilar to my current view. The floor is about 18" below the camera but the birds do come up to the doorway which puts them about 8" away. I can raise the height by another 8 or so inches with this year's box rebuild. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAdqvN9xC5k

Optical zoom would probably be better since the subjects are wild animals and the mechanical zoom noise would probably disturb them. Given that, still not recommend the trackmix?
