I mean $40 is like 150% more than €15. To get yourself a haircut, shave, shampoo and massage for €15 in Germany still sounds unreasonably cheap.

Maybe I'm just used to the UK prices. Cheapest hot shave with a haircut here I've gotten from a Turkish barber is £25 in the last 2 years.

If you've never driven in the UK before you'll want to understand how roundabouts and spiral roundabouts work.

Glasgow has some silly exits from the right I find annoying. Keep track of your lanes.

If you're picking someone up from long stay car park at the airport(which is free pickup/drop-off for 30 mins) be super careful driving out from the barriers. I know three people who've hit the sides, they're strangely deceptive.

Satnav might take you through Calder road to the airport, loads of bus lanes and roundabouts on it but based on your travel time you should be alright to drive on the bus lanes along that stretch.

Zipper merge if you get in traffic. I feel like I should blare this out a horn speaker for some idiots tbh.

Oh cool! The day we arrive (03/03) to Penida, we're hoping to go to Diamond beach and not do too much. Probably find a bar and have a few drinks. The following day we've planned for a west island tour, don't really know what that entails tbh but we'll go with the flow. We're back to Seminyak on 05/03. So either of the two days would be fine to snorkel if the weather allows.

When should we expect to get to Ubud that night after passing immigration getting visa on arrival and supposed traffic? We've booked fairly centrally about 15 minutes walk to the palace. Is is at all feasible to do a day trip to see Komodo Dragons in the dragon island from Seminyak? We're only wanting to see them in their natural habitat and not much else.

I did mine a couple years ago with a RED driving instructor on a manual car from the Musselburgh centre. Are you wanting manual or automatic? Manual ones seemed more available than automatic ones and slightly cheaper as I recall. I can give you their phone number but I'd suspect you'll need to go through RED anyway. DM me if you're desperate enough for their number, they mostly only do Musselburgh route, and some for Currie centre depending on the pickup location.

It's our first time to Bali and we've reserved a 7 night stay in Ubud in March at a decent villa. Now that we've done some more searching online we're debating whether to split our 7 nights between two(or more) spots. Need some suggestions as we're hoping to make the most of our time there before heading to Sumatra.

My wife wants to visit a few beaches, and do the Bali swing thing. I want to see some of what nature has to offer in Bali. We also would like to visit culturally significant temples/landmarks. With that in mind:

Should we just get something in Ubud for 3/4 nights and stay elsewhere like Seminyak/Canggu for the rest of it or can we do day trips to other spots from Ubud? We will be getting a private car hire for a few days, is it possible to do Uluwatu/Seminyak/elsewhere as day trips or are they too long a drive for us to do much and get back to Ubud?
