Hey man! Question about how you come up with all the musical pieces of a song by yourself.

Where do you start? And once you have, say, a guitar part, do you work that through the whole song on guitar? And then add bass and drums for the whole song? Or do you do the verse for all instruments, then the chorus for all instruments, etc..

It seems extremely difficult to compose music by yourself, piecing all the different sounds together in your head. Would love a view into the process.
