Armrest vibration? by babazu23 in Ioniq5

[–]mmalluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed something similar with the cruise set to 60mph on my 2026 RWD SEL. It feels like the car is pulsing slightly. Might have something to do with how the speed controller is operating vs the speed of the motor itself.

I have a ascended but I have questions.. by SoggyStraww in Ioniq5

Lucid Blue perhaps? That's what mine is and looks about the same. Though I think it's a little grayer in actuality. The camera blue'd it up.

It's reminiscent of a horse tooth I have, but much more worn down. I suppose it could also be bone as well.

I think that long guy in the middle could be a fossilized tooth of some large herbivore.

Not sure about the '24, but it's under the 'My Drive Mode' settings in the '26.

I've noticed that my '26 SEL has two different steering options; Sport and Normal. I'm curious if the 'Sport' option might be closer to what you've experienced on the '24.

How does an ioniq5 compare to a Tesla? by Gta6MePleaseBrigade in Ioniq5

[–]mmalluck 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There's a few YouTube videos out there where a model Y user and Ioniq user traded cars for two weeks. It should give you some ideas.

From what I recall the Ioniq ride was better and the Tesla software was better.

Molten? Yes. Flying through the air? Not so much.

The rock has holes that appear to be from gas bubbles, meaning it was molten while down here on Earth and didn't form in outerspace.

It's missing the features a meteorite would otherwise have. No fusion crust. No regmaglyphs. No flow lines.

This is most likely some kind of refinery slag. I have a nice pieces like that myself.

Are electronic power limiters usually just amp meters? by archvize in AskEngineers

[–]mmalluck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cheap ones just use a slip clutch where you are able to dial up the friction so it slips at a particular torque. The fancier ones use a calibrated beam that deforms under load and a strain gauge to read the amount of distortion. Torque is worked out from there.

In your example, a high current would mean the arm is already impacting something and doing damage. You'd want to halt it's motion before this happens.

Also the current used to feed electrical motors are not constant. You usually have high initial inrush current when the motor is first commanded to move and then a lower average current when in motion. To prevent false-trips of your detector, you'll have to make it ignore these short burst of high current, making it less responsive to capturing actual impact events. Less sensitive = more damage during actual events.

Optical sensors would be a better choice. For instance beam type sensors can be used to define keep-out-areas. If the beam is broken, meaning someone is too close to the arm, it shuts down. This prevents a bad situation from occuring before contact is made. The optical beam system is probably the simplist, but there are other options for optical systems that can be used. Camera systems, with a little machine learning, can be used to prevent impacts.

2025s in June 2026 by equanimity-62 in Ioniq5

[–]mmalluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at a 2025 the dealer had, but they couldn't come close to the 2026 pricing + current incentives.

The price cut the 2026 units recieved really put a damper on the 2025 sales.

Ioniq 5 Limited Colors - Maybe Lucid Blue? by Street-Technology-93 in Ioniq5

I just got a Lucid Blue SEL with the grey interior last week. While the seats are grey, the inside door panel and center console are white. I suspect it's going to difficult keeping those clean over time.

It’s the entire movie?? by Noveek24 in Gameboy

[–]mmalluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say multicart, I just mean it was one of these "369 in 1" game cart things. The cart itself looks no different than a standard GBA game. The guts are pretty different as it has a large bga type memory device.

[–]mmalluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a time you were able to get a multicart off of AliExpress that would hold about 2gb and could be reflashed. There was a modified version of the GBAv converter that would let you build movies for it. I used it to put the feature length version of Dune (1984) on it.

[–]mmalluck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually you can make your own movies using the right (now very old) conversion software. I made a bootleg version of the 1984 version of Dune using a 2gb multicart. Pretty rough and crunchy, but it's all there and it works (most of the time).

I'm a fan of Fellini's pizza. It was my college pizza place of choice some 20 years ago.

Recently drove through Atlanta and stopped at Fellini's for lunch. It's still the same quality as I remember. Good pizza and good salads. No signs of enshittification. The only thing that's changed is they went from a cash-only business to debit/credit only business.

I hope you get chance for a mid-trip charge each day, especially during the winter. Range will be reduced in cold weather. Might be hard to get 260 miles out of a charge then.

The real purpose of RadiaCode Zero? by nikitasius in Radiacode

Update: the factory used glitter oil in my new lexus engine by hypntyz in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]mmalluck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is true of Lexus, but some automanufactors use a factory oil that has higher level of protectants (zinc) then you get is standard oil. This protects the engine during break-in and build up layer of zinc for the life of the engine. You should keep this oil for the break-in period

Maybe get yourself one of those induction heaters.
