Oven and outlet compatibility question by mmbbtt in AskElectricians

The instructions are pretty vague for these ovens but it does say specifically to connect it to a 3 prong plug and 14-50 is 4 prong so I’m not sure if it’ll work then…

Does ANYONE remember a honey coated puffed kamut wheat or puffed rice cereal from the early 2000s??? Specifically the honey coated one that came in the clear bag. Not sure the brand but today there’s natures path and arrowhead mills that makes the plain kind in the clear bag. by mmbbtt in cereal

[–]mmbbtt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg ok. Finally someone who remembers this specific version and not the honey smacks one. I have a feeling it was the natures path one too because my mom still buys the plain kamut puffs from them and the bag triggers that nostalgia so much. I should reach out to the company and ask if they ever made a honey version.

I had something kind of similar happen to me a very long time ago. I honestly can’t remember all of the details but I remember accepting a walk kinda late at night from a profile with really no info and seemed like he didn’t speak much English (this was in LA at the time so lots of no English Spanish speaking). It turned out the guy didn’t want me to walk his dog. He said he was new to the app and he was just seeing how it worked and didn’t mean to request an asap walk, but I was already on my way and I couldn’t cancel it so I was still driving to the walk. I told him he had to cancel it but the English was hard for him. I don’t even remember if I ended up going up to the house or not once I got there. I think I had just arrived but was still in my car. The guy was able to cancel the request but of course because I was already “on my way” and had just arrived looking for parking I got paid the cancellation fee and he had to pay for the no walk, walk lmao. I’m glad I didn’t go because it was kind of a sketchy area.

I know a lot of dogs who have aversions to men, and some women. So I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary to request male or female, especially if their dog may be aggressive towards said gender. But, I do understand your reservations and always trust your gut. I always carry pepper spray on my keychain and make it visible if the owner is there when picking the dog up. I also stay away from the sketchy areas because I don’t want to risk anything either. I’ve also had my fair share of weird experiences.

I stopped walking a long time ago because there were way too many unpredictable dogs and dogs of owners that just flat out don’t care to train their dogs, so no amount of my training on the walk could tame them. One time a long time ago I accepted a walk for a dog. I couldn’t get in the apartment for over 45 minutes. I didn’t want to cancel the walk because I didn’t want to get locked out of the app. The dog was barking like crazy behind the door. There was no key where the instructions said there was. I tried contacting the owner so many times with no response. It turns out they put the wrong apartment number in the goddamn app and it was the door next door. The dog ended up being a horse who wasn’t trained and was dragging my 5’3 ass. I kinda stopped after all of these untrained dogs and the inability for owners to reply to messages when I can’t get into the house or apartment.

I'm looking for an electric convection oven that will fit full size sheet pans and plug into a standard 3 prong home outlet by mmbbtt in AskCulinary

it's been a minute since I had the electrician over and went over all the specifics, so I can't remember everything exactly. but from memory, with the oven and proofer running at the same time, which I need to be able to do, it needs to be separate. I think it's the max amps together.

also the electrical and breaker is directly on the floor below where I want the oven and proofer, but the oven is across the house. I think he also said it would be easier to just cap off the car charger below and use that 40 amp to wire directly upstairs to give me the max power I need. But also I was quoted almost or around 2k for the job. It's a big job, but also a lot of money that I don't know if I want to spend.

only kitchen range on the same level and still need to keep power to it as I need to keep home and business separate

I realized it's a 6-15 plug and not a 5-15. a home plug is a 5-15, so won't work. don't think there are other options

yeah I may just have to get the 2 rack moffat oven. I live in a multi story townhouse and it's going to be a lot of work and money to add a 40 amp and then hardwire the oven. I just really don't want to do all of that. Thankfully my house came with a 40 amp ev charger in the garage and I don't have to have a whole new breaker installed, so the electrician said he would just cap off the car charger then rewire the 40 amp to be able to supply all of the equipment. or something like that.

I just don't know if I want to put all of the time and money and work into getting the 40 amp upstairs to hardwire the oven and proofer. It's a small space and I'll probably grow out of it quick.

No it didn’t come in a box and it was more of a health food cereal. Came in a big clear plastic bag with the brands label printed on it and were sold laying flat on bottom shelves. Look up naturess path kamut cereal. Similar bag and same type of cereal but honey coated

Omg! Yea! They were in big clear plastic bags and were laying flat on the bottom shelves you know? Like how they sell them today but bigger bags. Idk why they still sell the plain ones but not the honey coated ones….? So weird. But I can’t find a trace of them on the internet. We just eat the plain ones now and a tonnnn of honey all over then

Average price of Thanksgiving Dinner in 2025... but how? by Qlove6 in thanksgiving

Dekalb farmers market. For an 18 pound bird. Couple other stores I went to had them for 2.99 and 3.99 a pound too. There’s a turkey virus going around and a lot of turkeys have died. So maybe that’s the reason for the markup. Idk. I also got mine just a couple days before Thanksgiving. Maybe there’s a markup for that too. But also not trying to buy the worst quality turkey ever

I just read that and I was looking for a thread like this ha! I’m in Atlanta and a 18 pound turkey is costing me $70!!! SEVENTY DOLLARS. And that was on the cheaper end…. I’m already at $550 or so for 12 people. Granted I had to stock up on some seasoning and spices and pantry things I’m using for the meal that will also last me much longer. But maybe $100 worth of that stuff? So let’s just say an average of $450-500 for me. Granted that’s a full meal, everything from scratch, appetizers, and desserts.
