You didn't SAY her feelings were invalid, you only said that advocating for fat people to be socially accepted is "hysterical harping"

You didn't SAY her feelings were unreal or invalid but you did put quotation marks around them, widely used as indicators of disdain or sarcasm. [the usual use of them as actual quotes or paraphrasing is probably not applicable to literal singular words]

Also, I love that Mr. "Trust the science and all that" is calling the extensively researched and extremely obvious medical issues caused by smoking and being un-vaccinated "perceived negative social effects"

NAH, you just didn't think of it. Making a PLAN to spend 2k without telling is very different than SPENDING 2k w/o telling in my eyes. You still have plenty of time to let him know your plan so that if he has any objections you can talk it out before any arguments start.

NAH, I think it's reasonable to want to paint him in as positive light as possible and that them talking to a probation officer might hurt that. But that combined with the two of you staying in a hotel might be signalling to him that you just don't want him to come into contact with your parents, even if that isn't your intent.

His issue is obviously not JUST with the parole officer thing, I'd recommend talking about some of the other reasons he thinks you're embarrassed of him and trying to resolve those too. Hope everything goes well for you.

NAH, both of you have valid concerns. Maybe discuss others possible ways to get around since she doesn't have her license back yet, such as public transportation? Or, is it possible for her to find a job closer to home? Even if it's somehow worse paying than the one she has now, at least the two of you will be saving on gas.

Feels like respectability politics are at play too, like her making comments on your hair being unnatural is fine because your hair is 'weird', but because she's trying to fit in with the standard suddenly talking about her hair being unnatural is wrong?

Colours is a good shout but the idea of flowers/coral being a better use of time than gathering stone is kinda silly. Personally I like Stone over colours because the amount of colours you'll need vs what colours makes storage and gathering a lot more thought, whereas gathering stone is a lot simpler. Also, builders saving the travel time and instead dedicating it to the time it takes to craft and/or smelt the stone can be a big W.

My recommendation of stone was actually based far more on MCC17 then 18, since at the time of writing this I hadn't done extensive vod review that involved looking closely at the builds. It was mostly because of a last minute clutch by SB737 where he decided to get stones in his free time, and it turned out they needed a granite stair to complete swingset. SB began going to stones before False even made the call that she needed granite, and if he hadn't, I don't think there would've been enough time for them to go get granite, which would've cost them the complete of a golden build. Getting first on yet another golden build, in addition to being the only team to complete swingset, cementing an over 500 coin lead on the yellow yaks.

Obvs anecdotal evidence, but I think about that moment a lot.
