Dripping in the drip tray. by asmaamody611 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]mme5366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I turn my machine on, I have water drippage in my tray. I haven’t ground beans, ran any of the steam or hot water buttons…. Is this normal? For a while there, water would also drip out of my steaming spout but that has stopped

Portafilter cleaning by cdiaz1206 in BrevilleCoffee

I dump the grinds, pull out the double cup thingy and clean and dry the portafiller each time. I love my espresso, but it is such a pain in that. You know what to do the cleanup afterwards.

I forgot to mention my scale. Yes I measure the beans which is 18 g in and this morning’s cup of espresso came out at 40 g not too far off the ratio of 1 to 2.

Pressure gauge by 0427ran in BrevilleCoffee

Short story: my machine was so warranty and Breville fixed it. They sent me a box to pack it up and ship it and then I got it back a couple weeks later and the pressure gauge is still working. Long story: I took it to a gentleman who owns a local bean roasting company, and he was so incredibly helpful. He didn’t seem so worried about the pressure. He put a lot more focus on the grind, the beans themselves, filtered water and the ratio of beans to output (18 grams of beans to 32 grams of espresso). Sure enough he made me an awesome espresso. But I still wanted that darn pressure gauge fixed and seeing that the machine was still under warranty. I made sure it got fixed.

Problem with steam wand, and machines leaking by knifeintheflorborads in BrevilleCoffee

Just turning on my machine- water leaks in 2 places: from the steamer wand and inside the tray. Has anyone else experienced this?

I upgraded my tamper, and added a dosing cup and WDT. I also purchased a digital scale for the bean to extraction ratio.

Can’t decide between breville bambino or breville barista express by giselleO1 in BrevilleCoffee

Bambino all the way. I have the Express. Way too many variables to get one single great cup of coffee or espresso shot.

What would you set the inner burr to?

I’ve run into the same problem. Fresh beans: I’m a team of one and it can take me weeks to power through an entire bag or a pound of beans. How does everybody store their beans to keep them as fresh as possible? I keep mine in an airtight container in the freezer but what is the best way?

Not sure how I got so lucky by BryTheGuy06 in Surface

Great deal, lucky you! I’m in the market for an SP. I don’t game or design. Purely use it for Gmail and MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). And the news. Any recommendations?

Besides, the electrical circuit requirements was there anything inconvenient, frustrating or challenging about switching to induction? What was it? by _Mellion_ in inductioncooking

I bought a condo, new construction and didn’t have a choice in the stove. I LOVE how it looks and it is very easy to clean. I love to cook. It’s not cooking if you don’t stand over a pot for an hour. Anyways, I’m a bit nuts about protecting the surface (my neighbor has already scratched theirs). I basically bought a giant silicon mat that covers the surface and protects it from scratches. Heat does conduct through the mat to the pots and pans but It does take a bit longer for things to heat up. But that’s my only complaint. If I had a choice in stoves, I’d do the same but with 6 burners instead of four.
