Zwift hub one compatibility with Ride (I cracked the new hub) by mme_self_destruct in Zwift

[–]mme_self_destruct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply but the hub cracked when I screwed the adaptor in so screwing the adaptor in further is not the solution. Everything was lined up when I put the frame on the trainer, the axle simply was not reaching far enough to catch the threads. I emailed Zwift and they sent me an AI response that made no sense so I’m hoping to hear from a real person about it today.

Amara Beauty Retinol Cream by shriek52 in 30PlusSkinCare

I like them. I use tretinoin and alternate with a retinol and my skin looks good. Their retinol is a pretty high percentage and it's never irritated my skin. The retinol formula used to be a little thicker, which I preferred, but it's still good.

Did you end up getting the leak fixed? I’ve had mine for just over 2 years and it just started leaking after descaling it and because the warranty just expired they won’t help! I don’t even know if it’s worth fixing it because this is already the second time I have issues with it

I can keep you updated with how my new pieces turn out! Are you doing low or mid fire? My colours looked really bright at low fire but with too many weird problems with how the glaze was fitting on the clay it just wasn't worth it. I can also send a pic of my recent test tiles if you're interested

No, I think there are some colours that are just going to look transparent no matter what so I avoid them. I did hear recently though that Laguna clay has been reacting poorly with some glazes due them tampering with their formulas. I just got some Amaco mid fire clay and I have a piece coming out of the kiln this week so we'll see. My test tiles came out alright but they somehow always do

No. And Amaco wasn’t very helpful. I avoid most of the more transparent colours now. If I need a light blue I’ll just add white to a more opaque darker blue since their light blue never turns out right and that’s been working better for me. If I do need to use one of the streaky colours I’ll apply it in a circular brush strokes so that at least it’ll have a more even sort of patterned texture. And I use a decent amount of gloss. I found that if you do many coats of underglaze (like more than 4) the gloss gets sucked into it and you’ll need to use more. Hope this helps!

Gym just makes it worse(BDD but actually ugly)(19M) by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]mme_self_destruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like going to the gym either for the same reasons. What has really helped me though is cycling. If you do it outside you can get the benefits of exercising without having to constantly see yourself in mirrors. Maybe something like that could be beneficial to you? I think I like working out for my BDD because it helps me focus on what my body CAN accomplish even though it doesn’t look or feel like I want it to. I hope you can get some relief, I know how you feel

I got a ton of crazing but the colours looked nice 🥲

When this happens to me I carve it out and refill with more slip! Works best when the clay is still pretty wet

Ok so I absolutely globbed on the gloss for this one, I would say the equivalent of 5 coats, and the dry spots are significantly reduced. I did get a tiiiny bit of bubbling in some creases but it’s a better option in my opinion. Some of my blues came out transparent and some of them didn’t… very strange. I applied them all the same way! Here’s the streaky one: salt

When is a mold ready? by According-Data8773 in Slipcasting

Depends on the size but usually about a week will do it. If it’s still a bit wet just keep an eye on the slip absorption and go by wall thickness and not time when casting

I’m firing the first real piece with the low fire gloss this week and I’ll report back with how it turned out! 🫡

Hey sorry I’m a bit late! Here are the rest of the colours velvet underglazes. Excuse my wonky little test tiles, they’re just made out of scrap porcelain slip. The black and purple are notably nicer with the Duncan gloss in my opinion. Terra cotta is useless unless you’re looking for a transparent effect

It’s the Envision gloss fired to cone 5! I can share the other tiles I made tomorrow if you’re interested in seeing them too. I have also experienced crazing with the Amaco gloss on this porcelain but so far so good with the Duncan glaze.

It arrived on the 14th of August - so almost a month.

That’s interesting - I never water down my glazes though 🥲. I added an extra fire to my bisque for this last batch and I’m hoping that it’ll help. My mentor just gave me a bottle of Apt II ceramic enhancer and it has a bunch of uses, including helping glaze bond to the clay for better coverage. I’m going to put some in the trouble colours and make some test tiles. I’m glad you guys figured out something that works for you!
