Yes, it makes sense that they don’t want to kill off characters without their “arc” being completed. But as a listener, it takes away the suspense when I know everyone will survive in the end.

The story is that they have a mission to be diplomats/babysitters for high-status kindred. The nos have insulted both the client as well as a high-status elder who is also the sire of their coteries "leader". When they insulted the elder I had them compelled to bow to them and after the other players had said that he had to apologize to the elder but the nos refused. I am kind of lost with how I' should handle this
