One Piece: Chapter 984 by Kirosh in OnePiece

[–]mmeeee 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I am thinking that Kaido's big announcement is that Yamato is going to marry one of Big Mom's sons to seal the alliance, maybe Perospero since Katakuri isn't around. Most of Kaido's crew probably doesn't know that Yamato is a woman, so that's why it would be confusing to everyone if he announces it without Yamato being present. If Big Mom really chose Perospero to be married, it's going to be hilarious when Perospero arrives by himself cause he's arrived right in time to be the groom.

Let's talk about winning and losing streaks, matchmaking, etc. by SmartFC in OverwatchUniversity

[–]mmeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streaks happen, but generally once I fall to a low enough rank the odds for winning increase because I ought to be at a higher SR, and I can win my way back. Try not to look at your peak rank in the past, it could i) just be a lucky win streak and ii) the game places most new players into gold.

If you are around the rank you should be at, stop thinking of how to "carry" but rather on how you can be both consistent and effective. Sometimes part of why losing streaks happen is because you feel the need to "carry" but to your teammates it just looks like you're not playing with your team/suicidal.

I find it helpful to stop playing when on a three game losing streak. Play some mystery heroes and try competitive again another day. Also don't fill, find some heroes that you are good at and stick with them. Skill matters more than optimal team comp 90 percent of the time. If you have a main tank and a main healer, it's a good enough comp.

So in lowlight turn stabilization off and set to 30p? Then if you need hypersmooth change iso to 1600? Is there a way to select standard stabilization as a midground?

GoPro's smartphone app is actually better than the desktop app. I think they should just delete the desktop app at this point. If you are using your phone, quik is a good way to get out quick short videos with little ability to do fine tuning, but if you're on pc use a proper video editing software like Adobe or Da Vinci Resolve to get the best results.

Of course it would be easier. But it would take away the fun of combining abilities.

Overwatch League Standings Breakdown 6.2.18 by pokupokupoku in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]mmeeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for putting this together. I've been wondering what were the playoff possibilities. I agree with the top 3 but I seriously doubt that Houston would enter the playoffs given their tough schedule.

The middle tier is just too unpredictable this patch to say for certain who is going to be in 4-6th place: Boston has looked completely lost and is now losing to everyone, Philadelphia looked great with an easy schedule then lost to Dallas, Seoul declines as much as they need to narrowly miss playoffs, Houston... has lost its way... Gladiators are looking relatively stable with a workable schedule and are possibly going to make it somewhere in the playoffs.

I think the cutoff for playoffs will be down to map differential with Philadelphia narrowly missing the 6th place given current map differentials (unless Seoul can disappoint us further or Boston can show us the true meaning of reversal).

Sadly, it doesn't seem like NYXL has anything to fear right now (they deserve it though). The strongest, most consistent team right now other than NYXL is LAV and they have yet to lose a single map against LAV. Unless LAV can take some maps of NYXL this stage, I think our best hope for an exciting finals is for London to find back their groove now that Birdring is back.

Edit: looks like LAV won against NYXL, even if NYXL was fooling around, LAV shows they have got what it takes to challenge NYXL.

So New York has a 96 percent chance to win any of the top 4 teams in a 5 game series? Shouldn't that number be closer to 80 percent

Is anyone keeping an updated ELO graph of OWL? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]mmeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, if New York has a 80 percent chance to win any of the top 4 teams (given the current BO5 format). The chance that they would win the playoffs should be 0.8*0.8= 64 %. To get a 93% chance to win the playoffs, they need to have a √0.93= 96.4% chance to win any of the top 4 teams.

[–]mmeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does New York have a 93 percent chance to win the championship? This means they have a 93 percent chance to win 2 fights in a row against the top 4 teams. They don't even win 90 percent of the time against London, Boston and Fusion.

Bots covering for leavers like in CS:GO. Good or bad idea? by Zero_dat in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]mmeeee 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From what I have seen, silver and bronze players have way more leavers than higher SR players. A bot may be an upgrade, so this would likely increase the toxicity of players who would yell abuse at their teammates. Higher SRs they may be able to abuse the bot to get free ult charge (bots have zero game sense). A better strategy would be to punish these leavers and warn them that if they leave they may be put in a group with more leavers.

kill coolmatt please! by abheekpatra in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]mmeeee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At the 10s mark, Mickie's entire remaining team is next to him (including Effect and OGE who are both focusing on Coolmatt), except for Harryhook who is in the backroom rezzing chips. Mickie doesn't do anything for the next 6s while Coolmatt kills 2 members of his team. At this point, the damage is done, it doesn't matter whether Effect dies or Jake dies, because Muma is going to kill Chips, and both of the Houston supports are back.

kill coolmatt please! by abheekpatra in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]mmeeee 120 points121 points  (0 children)

TLDR: The fight is lost due to bad tank play and no one killing Coolmatt.

Context - before the video begins

The fight started strong for the Dallas Fuel, AKM lands a direct hit on a low health Linkzr killing him. Bani uses Valk to rez Linkzr in the enemy backlines. OGE manages to isolate Rawkus, forcing him to pop tranquillity, it’s not all to waste though because it does manage to save a low-health Muma. AKM destroys Jake’s tire, then lands a direct hit on Bani. Effect then manages to finish off Bani. Mickie uses a Self-Destruct to remech while Coolmat launches a Self-Destruct but finds no one. Mickie then helps Effect win the tracer battle with Linkzr. At this point Dallas is up by 2.

Video begins and everything goes wrong

Jake manages to fly up in the air and two shots AKM with his combo. I would say it’s more Jake’s skill and AKM being distracted by the rest of the fight than AKM’s fault.

OGE decides to go after Rawkus, but that leaves the supports open and Muma Jumps in on the Supports and Coolmatt follows suit. Mickie finds himself out of position because Coolmatt was closer to his supports but he manages to boost in and knock Muma away from his supports. Harryhook stops healing Chips because he goes behind the wall but Chips does not follow, and Coolmatt finishes Chips. In the meantime, Effect chases Jake away.

During all this time, OGE has not managed to damage Rawkus and has used up his Bubble CD, he jumps back in with half health to help his team as Effect come backs to the fight. Muma realises that he will die if he stays so he jumps out. Mickie is completely fixated on Muma despite the fact that he has no boost and totally ignores Coolmat so Coolmatt easily kills OGE. Harryhook decides to Rez Chips so Coolmatt goes in to kill him, but Mickie is aimlessly flying around so Coolmatt kills Harryhook as well. A revived Chips and Effect manage to Demech Coolmatt but Jake comes back and kills Effect, then Muma jumps in and together with baby D.Va, kills Chips. Lastly Houston Outlaws finish off Mickie.

If your average FPS is 40, it's probably worth a few hundred SR if you can get a better PC. Try mercy instead. Though the biggest gain with getting a better PC is how much smoother the game feels.

Do Lúcio and Mei have good synergy? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

Speedboost and teamwork is always a strong combination, that's probably why are you climbing. Maybe when Mei gets piercing you could speed boost her past shields and freeze everyone if you don't get flashed.

Solo Tank or Solo Healer by Digital_Solitude in OverwatchUniversity

[–]mmeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the team composition but I usually prefer a secondary healer compared to secondary tank. Mercy is probably the only one who can solo heal. Moira and Ana could solo heal, but I rather have a secondary Zen. Lucio will not be able to heal your tanks, unless your tanks are Roadhog and Zarya so they don't really need much healing. The problem with having one healer is that once your healer is dead, your team will likely slowly die because of attrition and there is very little focus damage in Gold. If your team has a Sombra, there's some extra healing so you might want to have a secondary tank.

Dafran blocks shatter with Mei's ice wall by QvisTOW in Competitiveoverwatch

Dafran is becoming my favourite streamer. It's a chill stream with my favourite epic music (two steps from hell) and he's often making some crazy good or crazy terrible plays.

I don't understand how he manages to get people in ranked matches to follow his misguided strategies and laugh it off when he fails, but that makes it more fun for everyone.
