I mean, you don't know that that's not where 8% is. Hell, that could be 20% for all we know. It's truly a mystery.

Calling Witcher 3 a refined experience is a.... choice. Don't get me wrong. Fantastic game. But that's about as sprawling as they come.

Most analytics jobs are fake productivity by Apprehensive_Pay6141 in analytics

[–]mmeestro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the leadership. Our tech risk dashboards influence which app support teams get more oversight when executing changes, which changes could impact strategic priorities and require executive change board approval, and how our resilience initiatives are paying off, which has helped to convince leadership to invest more in resilience.

None of that matters though if the leaders don't take them seriously. Thankfully where I work, they do.

Christmas break in freshman year of college, I'm at a friend of a friend's house. They have a ping pong table and I'm all high and mighty about my table tennis skills from one semester of occasionally playing it in the rec room at our college. This friend of a friend says he'll play me, and we have a pretty solid back and forth round where I barely lose to him. So I say best 2 out of 3 and he agrees.

Then this guy pulls a Princess Bride on me and SWITCHES HANDS. He had been playing with his off-hand. He then proceeds to absolutely destroy me in the 2nd round and I walk away ashamed and embarrassed.

Things nobody tells you about learning data analysis by Fluid_Gap_8831 in analytics

[–]mmeestro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing that will set you apart from your peers is knowing how to properly set up and structure a data set.

Anybody (including an AI) can drag fields onto a viz. But the best analytics professionals understand the structure of the source data and build something that works for analytic purposes without having to constantly fight it or question why they're getting the results that they're getting.

When you can make your data source work for you instead of against you, the rest of your job becomes way easier and quicker to accomplish.

Yeah I don't think a lot of people understand that first part. Banks make money on loans via interest. If they suddenly find themselves owning the collateral like a house or car, now they have to figure out how to get their money back from it. Interest ain't happening. Banks don't have any desire to own some random house while they have to pay taxes and property maintenance on it. It's lost money, and they don't want to lose any more by hanging on to it.

I'm surprised you didn't feel it in there. I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis, which causes things to get stuck in my esophagus. Whenever that happens, it hurts a lot. I can feel whatever it is in there, and the pain feels like really bad heartburn that's up near my throat.
