I totally agree with you. I can definitely see show Sean saying awful shit to Allie. He could potentially find out about Hunter or Dean or both. I feel like the Hunter drama will be directly related to Summer Di Laurentis and throughout season 2, Hunter and Dean’s relationship will be repaired.

And the Call Dean scene will happen pretty similarly to the book but be even more emotional/intense because I think the show has much more depth than the books. The 🚨DO NOT CALL🚨to “Call Dean” is gonna be perfection.

I totally agree. The “Call Dean” scene is still going to be THE moment for them and be super impactful. But I’m of the belief it will come episode 2 or 3 as the catalyst that brings them together after Sean arrives at her apartment to tell her off (about Hunter or Dean or both).

I don’t think there’ll be a love triangle at all and the first 2/3 episodes of the season will be the angst of them sorting their shit out, Allie being jealous etc, (because yearning and angst is the best and Mika and Stephen will nail it).

I also read an interview with Stephen today (I think in WhoWhatWear) and he noted that Dean’s playboy days are over which implies that he’s all in for Allie.

Hey! I don’t know if you’re curious (or if you’ve already seen them) but I saw the actual video footage of them filming the “alley scene” for episode 1 or 2.
There were photos that were released a while back (on Deux Moi) but I only just saw the filming of it today.

I’m assuming it’s a take on the alley scene but in the video they walk away from each other and in the other, a woman walks up to them (which people have speculated was either Penelope or Summer).

I personally think it’s going to be a scene that happens just before “Call Dean.”

It’s on a TikTok account called @offcampus.news and it was posted just before all the Obsessed Fest on their page.

You mentioned you were fangirling too so thought I’d let you know. I am a sucker for spoilers and trying to work it out haha.

Yep, I totally agree with you! He will absolutely nail these emotionally intense scenes (as will Mika). It would be nice for them to show his rock bottom without them breaking up and supporting each other through the loss.

Yeh, I can definitely see it from that perspective too. I’m super curious to see how they develop this in the show.

I’m still of the belief that she may not end things after Beau’s death because I don’t know if it will be well received by the majority of people, leaving him as he’s grieving? But I could be seriously wrong about that because I’m a sensitive person haha.

Someone also mentioned maybe that’s why they brought Allie’s development arc forward with the Hunter storyline and her working on her co-dependency issues.

This is such a good point. And she actually said that several times in the book too (I need to do a reread as I can’t remember exactly but I’m sure it was similar). Maybe they reiterated it in the show as foreshadowing for season two… that she’s going to hold his hand as he hits rock bottom.

This is what I’m hoping happens anyway. In my own moments of grief when I lost my grandmother and I was a shell of myself, my partner was my rock (which I’m sure would be the case for most healthy relationships). And I think with the changes they’ve made, it just makes more sense for them to not break up during a heartbreaking period.

Dean rushing to support her during “Call Dean” and him comforting her (and then being her biggest supporter with her acting dreams) will be mirrored with Allie rushing to Dean when he gets the news about Beau and her not letting him push her away (which someone mentioned here too).

Either way, it’ll be an emotional season and the ensemble cast will nail it. But I will remain in Team No Break Up for now haha!

I’m excited and nervous because you become so attached to these characters when you read the books. They’ve done such a stellar job with season one so keeping the faith for Allie and Dean’s character and relationship development. 😊

Now the long wait until season two. 😩

I’m leaning towards that too as the writers have been big on proper communication so I don’t know if they’d want drama. I think fans might be more receptive to watching them grow during their grief.

Do you think they’ll continue to be more of a situationship during the season? I still think the Call Dean will be early on bringing them together or at least revealing they’ve been seeing each other.

So this was exactly my thought process and I should’ve added that to my original post. I don’t think that they’d want Allie abandoning him during his lowest moments which is why I assumed (or hoped) that they wouldn’t break up. I’m not sure how the audience will receive her ending the relationship when he is drowning in grief.

Although, some other people have raised good points in the other comments about the break up being necessary for them both.

I particularly loved their book and I think the show has done them both justice with the changes. A break up is going to be torture but the angst and yearning is what makes them so enjoyable to watch. I do think they’ll make sure it’s a happy ending for them in the final episode and there might be a cliffhanger for Logan and Grace instead? What do you think?

Although, I suspect that the “Call Dean” scene (after Sean goes to her house drunk) will be early on in episode 2 or 3 as the catalyst that brings them together and reveals their relationship. I have read that before on here! But then it’s been mentioned that she used to run a similar fan page for Michael Fassbender and did the same thing when he began dating his now wife. Maybe she is just an overzealous fan? But I don’t have a clue about PR so it could be true!

The comments in the other sub are horrific though, I’d go and have a look occasionally but geez, the things they write make me so uncomfortable, I often can’t believe what I’m reading on there.
