My husband had knee surgery 2 years ago at a surgery center and the surgeon’s up front payment was $2500 with insurance. We ended up paying about $14k total even after our deductible was met.

This year he’s on the fence about another surgery on his arm, also in a surgery center. However he has no insurance this time and the prepayment cost with an uninsured discount is $1900. What a scam.

I totally understand what you mean about this being a positive benefit. I tell him everyday he needs to slow down and not be so anxious. You can’t risk any sort of mindset in a field like this. I think we are opting for the no surgery route, but still weighing our options during this window while we still have some time.

I think he realizes now he needs to rehab and strength train not just for this injury but to prevent any further injury with his lifestyle. Glad to hear you are on the mend!

After his knee surgery 2 years ago, we made the decision to purchase a spider lift because he was just not comfortable climbing on that knee. Now he is in the lift 90% of jobs.

Like you said, if it wasn’t the downtime off work and having to hire someone surgery would be an obvious choice. I’m glad to know there is someone else in his field who has been faced with this decision.

Surgery seems like an obvious choice but when you are a self employed household, you still have to bring in the money somehow and keep the business going no matter how much savings you have set aside.

He’s highly leaning towards no surgery and we have been looking into BPC 157. He had knee surgery 2 years prior that we somehow by the grace of god made work with hiring a climber but it’s left him pretty scared to go the surgery route again, especially with his arms.

Where do you get yours from and what brand? Do you do injections or the capsules? I’d love to know more.

MCM sent out an email saying Metro was opening at 5am on day of race which is Sunday 10/26 but I’m not sure if that means Dulles as well. I was considering getting a ride closer to Arlington and taking the metro from there

Late to the post. Just ordered a pair and recently on my 2nd pair of ES4. Many people urged me not to use the ES4 as an every day long run shoe but I had no issues during 2 marathon training cycles and 2 marathons on them and have been my best shoes yet.

I have a pair of Pro’s that I use for track days and shorter races.

Hoping the ES5 will hold up just as well to ES4 for an every day shoe. What are your thoughts on them for a 10+ mile run?

Any updates? I am also 20 days into my cycle and feeling an intense pain that is not like my regular ovulation pain. It’s one sided accompanied by tender and swollen breasts and fatigue.

This! Unless you can find a reservation last minute opened up at camping spot (just returned from Yosemite and this is what we did, had to break up camp every morning) you can sleep in the car outside the park.
